I'm still in the small apartment so of course I justified an upgrade to my 29 BC.
Old (still running) tank here: https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/the-bio-3-29-my-1st-sw-tank.213846/

I'm going with a 40B display and 40 sump. A local LFS is building me the stand and providing me with the sump made out of a 40 and a single drilled 40B display. I made some rash decisions and got 80# of LR (and a giant tank that wouldn't fit in my apt) so I'm keeping the rock wet for the new tank to come this week. I'm breaking in the skimmer and have the DC-6000 ready to go!

Set it up and filled it as soon as I could.

Let the skimmer clear it up.

Added a kessil to the sump and put my pod filled Algea in it! Shimmer below!

Working on the rock scape currently but I have 30#s more to add from the other tank.

Looking good, I love the 40br! Are you keeping the same stocking as the old tank

Yeah I'm hoping to just move everything over to the bigger set up. Eventually I'm going to make the center a frag system acclimating with the kessil.

The mini cycle went down (my reefflakes maybe) so I added a royal gramma to see how the cycle goes before swapping my corals.

The tank is coming together, I'm shopping around at ikea for their cabinet doors but it's too small I might have to diy.

Finished the cabinets after trial and error with a lot of trips to ikea Home Depot and lowes...stressful.
Anyways here it is.

Aquatera, do you have a step by step build guide and list of supplies used? I'd love to make a twin setup here in California.

Aquatera, do you have a step by step build guide and list of supplies used? I'd love to make a twin setup here in California.

I just kind of collect different things; I just keep looking stuff up on this forum and other places and see used stuff from my lfs to grab.

Display: 40B single drilled
Total about 100#s lr between display and sump. I just stacked it myself
1 return 3/4" loc line
1 drain 1" straight to sump

Sump: 40B double baffle
Chamber 1-LR rubble, filter sock holder, probes and dosing tubes, skimmer: aquamaxx co-1 with q gallon space saver jug for waste to drain into.
Chamber 2 - nem, frag rack and flame Algea and cheato bay (basically my 2nd display tank but bare bottom)
Chamber 4 - ato sensor and ats on top, mangroves also.

Controller: Neptune apex: pm2, breakout box, orp, temp, ph and conductivity, 1 eb4, 1 eb8

Doser: Kamoer fx05 wifi with auto water changer (on every hour and 10% total per week)
Acro power, and brs 2 part.

Lights: 2X radion xr30 pro
Sump light: 1X kessil 360
Wxm and VDM cable to control

Flow: display: 2x mp10w
Sump: 1x mp10w

Filtration: normal 4x12" filter socks, custom made ats (got it used), phosban 150, and I plan to turn a phosban 550 into a cheato reactor similar to the a.r.i.d., small bag of chemi pure blue, small bag of purigen, 1 small pad of of poly filter (stuff left over from the biocube)

I'll make a video walkthrough of everything. The tank is basically fully automated right now. I just feed everyday for fun and dose phyto. I do have plans to use an old Aqua lifter pump to autodose they phyto through the day.

Stock: nano fish
A lot of corals with cfp. I buy shiny and often get deals with the lfs and trade. It's so much fun!

And now an updated FTS of both my tanks!

Updates with lights. Added an ap700 that I got a great deal used. Took a par meter and went down on intensity of all lights for the sake of the chalices. I'm running ulns so my acros are balling out but some of my lps looks a little sad. So I'm feeding more.

Kh=7-8 (between) api
Ca=450 seachem
Po4=0 read "11ppb" Hanna ulp
No3=0 salifert

The Kamoer stopped running reliably so I sent it back to China to be worked on. Got a great deal on a used dos so I'll be hooking it up to handle my auto wc in the mean time.
