Background
I live in Berlin CT. I have been waiting to get into this hobby for the last 12 years or so. I even bought a 120 gallon tank 10 years ago. I never set it up and ended up selling it. Between career changes, getting married, buying a house , kids, going back to school etc I just never found the time until now.

At the end of February I found someone on RC selling the tank I wanted.

Equipment

93 gallon 30 x 30 x 24 tank with a steel stand.

Two Vortech MP40s

Two Acan prism 600 Leds

Neptune Apex Controller

Trigger systems ruby cube 20 x 20 for a sump.

NAC 6 skimmer with an upgraded pump.

Here is a shot of the tank at the house of the prior owner.

The firs thing I did is paint the tank.

I will be putting this tank in my family room so it needs to look like a piece of furniture. I don't have a lot of woodworking experience and this is going to be my largest project yet. I am going to skin the steel stand with cherry.

Here it goes.

In order to make sure it would fir through the door i had to make the top ledge removable.

Here it is with the top

I will post pictures every now and then to show progress.

Wow great job!
Looks like you have plenty of woodworking experience to me!(I'm a carpenter myself)
Are you sticking w/ that rebar light hanger?

No. The tank will stand where the small table is

As you can see I have exposed beams so I will put these between the wall and the beam right above the tank.

I just have to spray them black first.

Wow, gorgeous stand. For someone who claims no previous woodworking experience, that's impressive. I am right around the corner from you in Glastonbury. Let me know once you're all set up and cycled. I'll hook you up with some frags if you'd like. Looking forward to see how it turns out!

I will be starting aquascaping soon. I am going for a minimalistic look so will only use about 50 lbs of rock. I have been curing this rock for about 6 - 8 weeks.
