Nope. According to Matt Pedersen, and other research, I might be the first person to hatch them let alone try raising them.

I've been busy lately but yeah I have a few left. Not much different than the first go around.

Looks like your getting the hang of it! Hopefuly you can breed them so people arent pulling them out of the oceans!

Hi,
I am new here, just saw your thread. I have a friend with some similar cardinals breeding. How did you get the larvae from the male? If they spit them into an urchin like bangai's I can make a fake urchin and put it in my friend's tank, otherwise not sure if I can get the offspring.
Thanks,
Kate

Well the ONLY way to do it is to catch the male and carefully pry open his delicate mouth and force the eggs out. Only banggais use an urchin. Then you have to tumble the eggs in water the same temp and pH as the original tank to hatch the tiny larva.

Wow, impressive. I know people who do that with mouthbrooding cichlids too. Sounds like delicate work.
Have you continued to work with their offspring?

Yeah, I have gotten them to live almost to 14 days. I'm not sure why I can't get them to go further so each time I adjust what I'm doing a little bit to see what will help. At the moment I am waiting for the next spawn.
