so I had posted a while back that I was looking for choati and Mauritus wrasses. I was basically told the Choati is very difficult so I decided to just look for the Mauritus.

Well I got a message from my LFS yesterday that he ordered 2 Choati. He is giving me what I think is a heck of a deal, 2 For $150. For that price I said I would take them.

So I read the writeup on Reef builders on QT'ing them but any other input would be appreciated.

Pictures will follow when I pick them up later

My choati lived with my 6 other mixed leopards for 6 months before mysteriously dying out of nowhere.

That sucks, at this point I just want to make it thru the week. Baby steps

I hear it's pretty normal. I hope it doesn't happen, I have better luck with leopards in groups. Mine also hid in the sand for nearly a month when added.

I didn't QT mine. I kept it in an acclimation box for a couple days so it could get used to the light cycle and the other fish, and then let it into the display. I wouldn't want it to not sleep in the sand for more than a couple days. Give it lots of live pods to graze on, and keep a lid on the tank.

Prazi is your friend for leopards in general as well. None of mine were qt'd my wrasse tank is an ich management tank-- although my leopards in other tanks were properly qt'd

In addition to being on a completely different schedule and benefiting from being treated with prazi, it seems that they are sensitive to swings in alkalinity.
