Hello , I really need to know how thick the outside magnet is. I'm building shelves for each side of my tank and need to know how much space to leave.
I don't have this unit yet but want the option. Thanks !

You also want to leave room to remove the magnet, unless you plan on living the shelves each time.

Bless You gentlemen. What a big relief indeed ! I left 1/2 inch for magnets. The shelves will slide out easily .
So what do You think of Your gyre. I'm setting up a standard 180 and looking for something better than these korallia's I have. Thanks

They are releasing a new and upgraded line of Gyre's with a new controller. I have two 130's and really like them, the 130's move a lot of water in my 72 gal tank. I will be upgrading the controller in the near future.

I just received a new Gyre XF250 yesterday and I really like it. I am using it in a 150 Gallon 48 x 30 x 24 tank and the wide flow pattern is really nice. In regards to programming the manual is a little week but the video put out by CoralVue helped me a ton

I was using two MP40's prior to this and so far I must say I like the flow pattern better on the Gyre. I do miss the loss of the Apex programming for it though

Ya The XL 250 . I'm really not to tech savvy and prefer a hands on controller. lots of the reviews are on smaller tanks. Wondering if I'll want one at each end for this 6 ft tank.

Thanks Blitzie ! That's what I would need to figure it out ! Now the hard part as usual is choosing the right pair for my tank. Now that I see this clip I want one ! This hobby is like an addiction ! You all are enablers ! LOL The technology intimidates me though.
I have the cash. I just use the "new truck " fund ! It will be a new truck all right, like a 2026 model at this rate LOL

I am also thinking to try these to replace RW-15 but thinking if the XF-250 is to powerful for my tank compared to the XF-230. What will you recommend???

I have a 130 and 150 and I love them. no issues at all.

Can you post a pic? I will like to see how they look in the tank prior I place my order. That's is what got me thinking if it looks to bulky.

I appreciate it.

Imo they look pretty sleek compared to standard round powerheads. I'll snap some pics later.

I selected the XF250 because my tank is 3/4 thick acrylic. I am currently running it at 60% Power. Flow wise I would of been OK with the XF230 except is only handles 1/2" thickness.

A note about the magnet on the XF250 It may be rated at 3/4" but it is not very strong at that level
