So is it better to get 3 females or get the set that already has a male? Does it even matter?

Doesn't matter. In the wild they usually occur with a male in the group but in the absence of one the dominant female will turn male eventually. So it's up to your preference.

I'm so glad I didn't purchase that fish. Was very close and kept going back and forth on whether it was or wasn't a diamond tail wrasse. Would have been extremely disappointed to spend that kind of money on a fish that turns out to be something different. Looks to be sold on the website.

We received them as Diamond Tail Flasher Wrasse from the same supplier that have been collecting them for us in the past. We sent these photos to a few friends that are experts in the field for clarification. These fish are the "female of the rubriventralis representative from Kenya... It should be recognized as a new species."

Thanks Hunter for pointing this out and it was definitely not our intention to mislead our customers. As these fish were invoiced as Diamond Tail, there isn't a price difference on this fish. But we will now reach out to the customers that bought the fish to make this right for them. If you have anymore question with regard to the fish, or anything else with regard to this matter, please feel free to reach out via PM or email.

Thanks,
Kenny
