Which is the better buy

jan 2015 purchased - $200 - had the power cord replaced, includes the rugged props, and the silent mount and upgraded grate.

April 2016 - $235 - BNIB.

The guy with the new one seems to think that all the new versions come standard with the rugged prop and silent mount. Is that true?

Unsure of the rugged prop, but yes the silent mount is in the new setup. I purchased one about 3 months ago and am very happy with my purchase. What size tank are you looking to add into? I have mine in a 110, 4' tank and would say I wish I had bought 2. Not for flow reasons as this thing is a beast and puts out some flow, but more so to add a little more variety to flow patterns.

Rugged props are not included in xf150, they are included in xf130. In bb, get the rugged props. They are so cheap and break from little sand peices and snails.

I am sorry, but this is not true. I bought both the 130 and 150, 3 weeks ago. Both have the new heavy duty props. In addition, each comes with with the sound dampening pads and a foam shroud for the impellers.

I also have the older version xf150 and was able to buy a set (A +B) of new props and cages for $12 Cdn. The foam covers were available for $5.

So the xf150 is shipping with all the updated hardware.

I got them at my local LFS here in Ottawa. He had half a dozen sets. Makes me think they got them from the supplier at a good price. You might want to check with your local LFS'. They may be able to get them, if needed.

Nice! I seen them online. They seem more than 12cad. Now more like 25$ usd? I cant wait to get mine, probably get it in Edmonton.
