Great thread! I am fixing to implement an equipment cabinet myself. I just need to figure out what direction I want to go in. I have the Red Sea Reefer 250 and have plans to swap the sump out and possible use the entire stand cabinet for the sump. If I go through with this I'll need a cabinet to hold my equipment and ATO container.

Keep the idea's coming!

Ok, so that's pretty slick. I was considering doing something like this with a set of blade servers that I have. Are those rails stainless and are you using a retractable cable management harness?

Thanks, the rails are commercial grade drawer rails from the big box store. I was in the process of finding the cable guide like on a cnc machine but looping has worked fine and lack of need has kept me from making that upgrade yet.

This thread inspired me to move all of my equipment out from under my tank. This past weekend I sat aside 2 hours and got it done... Finally!

Second energy bar mounted inside the cabinet-

Equipment cabinet in place!

I'll get before and after shots under the tank stand soon! I will be going back and cleaning up the cables inside the equipment cabinet soon. I had to take my system completely down to do this move and I wanted to get everything back up and running quickly!

The box is the NBA-10176 from BUD Industries NEMA Boxes - UL/NEMA/IEC NBA Series | BudInd

I drilled out the side and bottom to accommodate a cooling fan, cords and ventilation. The panel the the controllers are mounted to is just a piece of 1/4" acrylic that I routered out and painted.

I'm not sure if I have more pic's of the building process with the box or not, I'll look later today.

Thanks for the positive feedback!

I really like the idea of using drain pipe! I am going to look into using that on my build.
