I need a new water pump. I'm looking for @ 1000 GPH and around $100 to $120.

How are the Simplicity products?
They have new water pumps out and I'm looking for reviews?

http://www.simplicityaquatics.com/pumps/

I can go with Mag Dive 9.5 for less but I like the versatility of a DC pump.
I plan on splitting the output.

Any suggestions?

Boy, that Simplicity pump looks exactly like the Jebao/Jecod pumps. Here's the Jebao DCT6000 (ca 1600 gph) that sells for around $80.

Can't comment on the simplicity but I Got a dct12000 on my DT, been running a year, split return, 6ft head. Quiet and plenty of flow.
Think mine was around 120 shipped

I got the Jebao DCT-8000. Running for about 1 week now and absolutely love it. Very quiet and low heat. I have it running 2 return outlets and my reactors (3 of them). More than enough power for my 125 and only running a bit more than half.

If you want a cheap dc pump go with the jebao/jecod pump.

But the mag pumps are tanks and last years.
Cheap as in inexpensive or cheaply made?
I think I know the answer.

I buy jebao I will buy from an lfs so I have somewhere to take it back to.

At 4ft head pressure - Mag drive 12 would give me @840 gph or Simplicity 1200 would be @1000 gph.

The price is about the same.

Is the difference of 160 gph worth the quality difference?

I would go with the jebao or simplicity. For one, the slow start up is great, it doesn't blast everything in the tank the second you plug it in like the mag drive. Second, you can adjust flow speed on jebao's, can't on mags. Third, mine is dead silent, i have a skimmer with a jebao dc pump running as well and you cannot hear it running at all. The only way to tell is to actually look and see things swaying in the current. I'll use dc/controllable pumps from now on.

Thanks. Those are strong points.

I'm trying to talk myself out of getting a simplicity. I really like them.

Can these pumps be run externally as well?
Considering trying-out some Simplicity pumps on the SA systems.
Thanks!

Well i can tell you my Simplicity Skimmer is well made and the dc pump is dead silent. I wouldn't hesitate to buy one of their products again. Very pleased.

Just got a Simplicity DC 2100. 2 year mfg warranty has an appeal.

I personally would go with the mag drive, I have jebao pumps and I do not find them quiet if run past 60% nor do I find them reliable. They are ok pumps, cheaply made, but for the price do a good job, it depends on what is important to you. What are you wanting, a bullet proof super quiet pump or a cheap pump which does the job? Either way is not wrong.

I have a Simplicity skimmer and I have called them several times, they answer the phone and speak with you, offer advice and if you have a warranty issue, they do not break out the magnifying glass on you, so C/S A+. I do not know which pump to recommend they have different numbers than others.
