The Vectra L1 is the larger of the 2 Vectra pumps by EcoTech Marine.

It boasts a flow of 3,100 gph (11,500 lph) with a max head pressure of 21.5 feet (6.5 m), and it incorporates the EM's new QuietDrive technology and the amazing controlability you've come to expect from EcoTech products (and it's a pretty sleek design too!).

There are plenty of great applications for this pump (see the closed loop setups by one of our R2R members below).

How many of you have used the L1? What did you do with it? What has been your experience? Please comment below, and as always, pics are encouraged! :D

I just own the M1, I've had it since it came out. Great pump, very quiet and so far extremely reliable! I would definitely buy the L1 in the future based on my experience with the M1.

Hmm I may need more than the L1 on my 350g?

Depends on how much flow you want.
The L1 is rated at 3100 gph at zero head... but who has that?
Factor in the average 4-5 feet of vertical head, plus horizontal plumbing, plus several elbows, and that number drops like a rock.
The L1 may be ok for you if you are ok with around 3x through your sump.

On my previous system which was a 200g display plus another 150g+ in sump, frag tank and mangrove tank with lots of plumbing restriction from tying it all together, I was running a Reeflo Gold Hammerhead which is rated at near 6000 gph.
In the end I was probably lucky if I was getting 2000 gph out of it.
It's so hard to accurately measure flow so hard to tell.
