Hello,

I read your official forum since long time.

Happy to see you here and i have a first question.

I plan to equip my next reef tank with a Profilux supervision. But one problem still make me hesitate, I need to have all the equipments under supervision, I find my happiness for all with level, flow, probes, EXCEPT for Vortech pumps:

After searching in your forum I read that if a Vortech pump gets stuck, Profilux know but will not alert (http://forum.aquariumcomputer.com/showthread.php?10909-Pump-alarm-from-vortech-controller-unreported). Is this have been solved?

Thank you

William

I've never had my Vortechs stop rotating. I've made them over the last 10 yrs. and have never had one get stuck.

Hi Salty,

It can : http://goo.gl/apRbnQ
Occured, several times for me:
-> Problem with drive shaft nut
-> DC accidently unpluged
-> Algae stuck inside

Please, it's not because YOU never had this problem that can not happen.

Thank

That's good to know. I keep my pumps cleaned and maintained so that may be why I never had it happen. Never meant to imply it wouldn't happen, with the thousands of them out there I'm sure some people have had it happen. If you keep them cleaned and maintained you "shouldn't" have any problems:)

Hi William,

At the moment, alarms cannot be triggered if a Vortech gets stuck. It's on the to-do list. ;)
