    Humblefish

Bobby Miller was a child prodigy of our hobby, setting up his first saltwater aquarium at age 5. One tank quickly evolved into many, and over the years Bobby has maintained just about every type of marine aquarium imaginable. He has also worked in retail, aquarium maintenance and is now starting his own company selling quarantined, conditioned saltwater fish.

Bobby's obsession with studying fish diseases began about 10 years ago. Since then, he has devoted a good portion of his life to studying peer-reviewed journals on the subject, conducting his own research and offering advice to anyone with sick fish. This willingness to help others has motivated him to start Humblefish Aquatics, a company which will soon be selling and shipping fully quarantined & conditioned saltwater fish all over the USA. :)

    maroun.c

Maroun is a hard core reefer from lebanon since 2000. In a country with (until recently) limited quality livestock and hardware, he was lucky to be a frequent traveller which allowed him to gather an impressive coral collection over the years and to connect with many reefers and reefkeeping masters. He has kept different tanks throughout the years 23g, 80g, 150g and currently runs a 400g tank linked to an 800g total system with multiple frag tanks and sump in basement. Maroun has contributed to the hobby by starting forums in the middle east and as part of the moderating team on R2R. He connected with many reefers and helped them start up and run their tanks. His strongest areas of knowledge are in system design and setup as well as in his other passion: photography and aquarium photography. His build threads speak about his dedication even when facing multiple ups and downs and running an elaborate setup while being located in a different country...a new challenge and a true test of the robustness of his setup and his remote coaching skills to his wife who has been caring successfully for the tank over the last 9 months.

    vlangel

Dawn Gilson has been keeping fish for as long as she can remember. When she married Dave Gilson they set up a 10 gallon aquarium and then upgraded to a 40 gallon in the wall when they purchased a new house. In 1997 she got hired by the Seahorse Petstore where she worked for 12 years. That is when she began keeping marine fish.
Dawn and Dave have 3 married sons. They passed their love of aquariums to their oldest, Nathan. (Nathan is actually the one who encouraged Dawn to move from a FOWLR system to a reef. Nathan has a 40 gallon reef and is passing his passion of all things aquaria on to his children). Dawn and Dave share their home with a shih tzu and 4 seahorses. They also enjoy motorcycling. The have ridden their bikes in all of the lower 48 states, and still hope to ride to Alaska!

    Scott Fellman

My name is Scott Fellman, and I’m the consummate “fish nerd/entrepreneur/provacateur!" I’ve been keeping freshwater and marine aquariums since I was a kid, and during that time, I have maintained all sorts of aquariums, fish bowls, plastic boxes, and just about anything that can hold water. My passion is creating natural-looking and functioning biotope aquariums which represent unusual ecological niches. I love this hobby and the crazy people in it!

I’ve written many of articles for numerous publications and many online venues, (including here on Reef2Reef) , as well as my daily blog, “The Tint”, on my Tannin Aquatics web site, where I blog on a variety of aquarium-related topics.

In addition to my writing, I have racked up the frequent-flyer miles, traveling all over the U.S. and internationally, speaking at clubs and events (MACNA, etc.) about all sorts of reef-and aquarium-related stuff. I keep threatening to complete a book before this century is over…

I was co-owner of Los Angeles-based online marine livestock retailer, Unique Corals, which specializes in sustainably-collected, aquacultured, and captive propagated corals, fishes, and invertebrates to the hobby. We enjoyed amazing growth and a large fan following in the four years I was with the company. Following my lifelong passion to embrace unusual aquatic niches, I sold my interest in Unique in 2016 to launch Tannin Aquatics, which specializes in providing what we like to call “aquatic botanicals”, as well as other goods and ideas for specialized aquatic hobbyists. We’ve enjoyed meteoric growth, and have turned on many hobbyists to this exciting speciality since we’ve been in operation.
