Yes, that is my understanding. They appear to use the names interchangeably on the #reefoctopus website. They also appear to use the 300-S and 300-SSS interchangeably as well (the "s" stands for space saver).
I also have a #reefoctopus 150. It would seem that your top two options would be to order it from CoralVue or to make your own DIY solution. Do you have pictures of what you have?
I have not used that brand of skimmers - I have primarily used #reefoctopus skimmers and plan to by another one within the month for another system that I am currently setting up. The good news is that the Aquamaxx WS-1 uses a Sicce pump which is a reliable product. On the other hand, I...
...and Chroma BOOST foods are solid, @WWC 's new retail stores are absolutely phenomenal, and @CoralVue has been extremely innovative this year with all of their product introductions such as the #Hydros WaveEngine, soon-to-be-released #Hydros Controller, #reefoctopus algae reactor, and much more.
Congratulations! I have a #reefoctopus sump which is very similar and really like it! If you are willing to share, we would love to see pictures of your new sump!
My list to Santa started with a Reef Octopus Light Reactor at the top followed by a Reef Octopus protein skimmer so I guess we'll see just how good I've been! I'm sure that with the matching colors Santa has to be a Reef Octopus fan!!! :)

The entire Reef Octopus line of skimmers are great! As suggested, my understanding is that the 150-S is the same as the 150SSS. If you have the space and the price is comparable I would choose the 150 INT.

The Reef Octopus Regal is a strong option. I have always had great luck with Reef Octopus skimmers and will be ordering another one soon for a new system.

You may want to check out the Tunze DOC Skimmer 9012 DC. I have not used one personally, but it may fit your needs. I have primarily used #reefoctopus skimmers, but I think their shortest is 19.3". Good luck!
I’m not sure who your LFS reached out to - I have found CoralVue support to be responsive and helpful.
Let’s see if we can get you some help here...

I am partial to Reef Octopus and one of my skimmers is either that model or one very much like it. Yes, I would by another for $90. Good luck with whichever one you choose.

I believe that JNS, Aquamaxx, and Seapora are all made by the same company. Although I would recommend #reefoctopus skimmers, Sicce makes solid pumps so depending on how good the price is then it may be a reasonable option. Good luck with whatever you decide!
It sounds like you have a good plan and this should be a neat adventure for you! Another consideration is the #reefoctopus Varios-2 DC pump that is turned down to the desired flow. The dimensions are 5x3. It is not the least expensive option by any means but it will help you achieve the quiet...
First - welcome to R2R!!! @Carlos@CoralVue can probably get you dialed in very quickly, but in the mean time I would suggest that you raise the skimmer even higher in the water.
