- GHL ProfiLux Controller (4/4e) – Quick Tutorial – How to Configure Notifications/Alert Sending, Apr 22, 2019
With the latest release of the #GHL Connect App 2.6 we can now configure alert and notifications for your ProfiLux Controller within the GHL Connect App. Before this was ported over to the GHL Connect app you needed to configure this within the GHL desktop software. With this feature ported over I can only think of 3 things still not ported from the desktop app to the Android/Apple GHL Connect App.
Alerts/Notifications can be sent to an email address or via Text messaging. GHL is currently upgrading it true SMS gateway which will not be dependent on the internet but just connect to a local cellular tower.
Because the technology is using email to SMS gateways, I thought it would be good to list the common cell phone carrier email to SMS gateways that can be used for sending an alert to your phone via a text message.

- ProfiLux Controller (4/4e) – Install/Config a Kessil Light with the use of a GHL 1-10V Breakout Box, Apr 12, 2019
#GHL on their Facebook page announced another update to the Profilux controller Firmware and Wireless Firmware that now allows us to assign and configure PAB devices through the GHL Connect App eliminating another task that use to require the desktop software. We also received in this update the ability to now use KH director values on switch channels. This opens up a new door of features as you could use for example a BRS 1.1 pump to dose connected to a PowerBar.
Since I needed to install a new Powerbar on my ProfiLux 4e, I thought it would be good to show how easy it is now to install and configure a device through the GHL connect App. Also for GHL users who already have devices connected I upgraded one of me other Controllers to show what you can do with existing devices connected. Enjoy
The quality on the tank is very good. It is cycling now without any issues. I ordered a few additional filter socks for it but overall I am happy with it.
I plan to place the #GHL Profilux 4e controller on it and get lights setup and the power head.
Going to be a nice frag tank when done. I will post an updated photo in the morning when it light out
A quick how to video on installing an expansion card into a #GHL Profilux P4e. These same steps can be used for the Profilux 4, Expansion Box or the Profilux P4e.
The Screwdriver set I used to open up the unit was bought at Amazon:
It is time for me to invest into a Frag tank .
I decided on a Waterbox AIO 28.2 Frag Tank which arrived very well crated on Friday.
So My Plan are:
Tank: WaterBox All in One 28.2
Controller: #GHL Profilux 4e
Power Heads: 2 Tunze 6055 which will be controlled by the Profilux 4e controller via the 1-10v port.
Heater: 2 Eheim Jager TruTemp 100 Watts for Redundancy
Skimmer: Not yet decided
1 GHL Powerbar: I have a 5.1 but will replace with a Version 6 when they come out in a few weeks
Lighting: I am using some spare Kessil Lights, which will also be controlled by the Profilux via the 1-10v port.
GHL Maxi Doser: Which will provide the ATO and the AWC for the Tank.
I finally Did it, I placed the new sump in today
Headache for sure and the lesson learned is do it when the tank is new and and before it is built not after
Bad news is the Klir 4 will not work(Placing them up for sale today), I could have probable rerouted my piping to make them work, but because it took me 6 hours to get the new one in I decided not to. I am still glad I did it for the reason is now I can now use filter socks, as the sump that originally came with the tank had a filter pad but it really never worked well.
First always good to try fit..
The Nyos Torq will be replacing the two Avast Spyglass (easier Maintenance on the Torq)
Whooohoo Back up and running
Nyos Torq running all Dosing Tubes all Reconnected (Your also seeing here my AWC, and ATO Refill is here)
Some are asking why not in the return chamber, which is the next chamber over, I want the ability to see that it is running, and it will allow me to also adjust the two float switch switchs are in this chamber also more easily for the AWC). I also have a Low Sensor in the Return chamber if it gets two low it will alarm.
I used different bulk heads at the end as the owns I orginally wanted to use I did not like, but I have a slow leak under one of them, I am not sure if I have a loose bulk head or the threads themselves, will work on this today. It maybe 2-3 drips every 4 hours.
Since I was also cleaning up and re-running lines, I installed the #GHL Inline water filter on the KHD Director This is just to keep the chamber even cleaner when taking water samples.
Overall even with the small leak which I will get figured out today, I am happy I did it, this should eliminate bulk of the detritus that was getting to the skimmer and also to the return pump. I figure for now I can go with Filter socks and later try Filter cups I wanted to really place the Klir 4, but when I do my next tank I will make sure to design them with them in mind the first time and not try to put them in after the fact. The overall new sump is a work of art, and worked out exactly as expected, was able to slid it through the front without any issues.
Thank everyone for the input, I am going to take the water form the display tank through my AWC. Instead of my existing AWC emptying into a drain line I will reroute that to my new frag tank. I will then place a #GHL Maxi Doser on the frag tank and a float switch which will pull the water first before the AWC on my display tank starts.
Then use the other dosing head of the maxi for ATO.
