    Happy Thursday!
For #TBT lets see your very first coral. Feel free to show pictures of when you first got it, and what it looks like today (if you still have it)
My first coral was a single head of Hammer Euphyllia
    It ballooned up to this
Then after an unfortunate accident, were back down to two heads but growing and splitting fast!

  6. THROWBACK THURSDAY! What was the first pest that ever made you lose it!?, Sep 20, 2018

So if you've been in this hobby for any time at all, you've had to deal with tank pests, but most of us have dealt with some really tough ones to crack! For today's #TBT, tell us your first pest horror story... Ya know, the one that had you wanting to throw your tank through a window or burn the house down.:rolleyes: Give us the gory details. What did you do to try to beat it, and how did you finally succeed (or not...)?

My #TBT is my IM20 that I upgraded from. I miss this little tank, she was packed and pretty.

I regrettably let maintenance slack as I was building my 125 in and lost a lot of them.

Good Morning Everybody! Today is once again Throw Back Thursday, and I have a real treat for you all. In digging through my archives, I was able to round up this beauty. This is from DAY 1!
  12. THROWBACK THURSDAY! What got you into the hobby?, Sep 13, 2018

For this week's #TBT tell us about what got you into the hobby.

My story is that we went on vacation to Florida and I caught 5 Florida fighting conchs and 2 Queen conchs... I put them in a bucket with sand from the beach and water (and, yes, I do know better now...didn't at that time). My wife and I had been talking about setting up an aquarium, and I thought "I'll just do saltwater instead of hard can it be??" ;Facepalm;Facepalm;Facepalm and the rest is history...

I took those little critters home and kept them in a large tupperware container with no pumps or heaters for a week or so while I started researching... how they survived I'll never know, but they did. I actually had all of them for a couple of years. I only lost one of the conchs to death after over a year and rehomed the others when we moved from Virginia to Ohio.

Anyway, I started my first tank with a 30g tank and coralife skimmer I found on craigslist. A few months later upgraded to a 75g...a couple months after that added a 55g predator tank...then upgraded to a 180 and a 120 when I moved to Ohio...then downsized to 1 tank when we moved to Cali...and well...the story continues... LOL

  18. THROWBACK THURSDAY! What has been your favorite fish in your tank?, Aug 30, 2018
  19. mdbannister

Time for another #TBT thread! What has been your favorite fish that you've kept in your reef? I know, I know...picking your favorite fish can be like choosing a favorite kid, but try to narrow it down to at least your favorite 2-3. :D

My favorite so far has been my McCosker's wrasse (in my avatar pic) ...or my black ice clown that I've had since 2013 (even though she's so evil that my 3-year-old named her "Bad Guy Fish" LOL).

    So what's your favorite?
