REEF2REEF Saltwater and Reef Aquarium Forum
I would like to thank everyone that took time out of their busy Holiday time to come celebrate with #CTARS tonight. It was alot of fun. I hope you all enjoyed yourselves!!
I would also like to thank Reef Junkeez LLC, Unique Aquaria, Wet Pets and School of Fish, inc for coming out tonight and supplying our club members with some awesome frags.
I would also like to give special thanks to Donnie at #WETPETS and David at #schooloffish for supporting our club for the past few years during my time on the CTARS Board! You guys Rock!!
Until next time,
We will be hosting a Fragging Demo and Donnie from Wet Pets in Vernon will be doing the demonstration for us.
All CTARS members will leave the meeting with at least two corals. The meeting will take place on SATURDAY May 19th at 5pm at the Lutz Children's Museum in Manchester CT.
This is going to be a lot of fun and informative as well.
We will have a few cool things for our raffle such as:
(1) 2 tickets to Reefapalooza NY in June
(2) Building an Obsession Frag Transport
(3) DIY fragging kit
********Donnie will also have additional coral for sale. He can bring some inverts, frozen food, or other requested items if he has notice in advance. Please take part in the poll if you would like him to bring something else to the meeting.********
Hope y'all can make it!

Threw together a tiered frag/coral carrier that fits in a 5 gallon bucket for the upcoming #CTARS fragtoberfest and figured I'd share a few pics as well as a little tutorial.
First I cut some egg crate down to 16x9" pieces
Next I used a Dremmel to cut out the + at each corner
The hole size is the exact diameter to fit a length of 3/4 PVC so I used some scrap to test fit. I trimmed the corner on the bottom shelf so it could sit lower in the bucket.
This rack leaves plenty of room on either side for a heater and circulation pump
A few members have expressed interest in carpooling to the show on Sunday June 25th. We have enough people now that we don't fit in a car. If we get a few more interested we can charter a van or small bus for a reasonable price. The more people who want to go the cheaper the price will be. Please reply here if you would be interested in joining us so we can gauge interest before booking a van. We need to know ASAP so we can book the ride. CTARS members only pls.
@revhtree, how AWESOME is my local reef club?!?!? CT Area Reef Society (CTARS) will be making a donation of $300 to this year's toy drive! There will be a lot of happy children this Christmas. Thanks again, CTARS! For the kids!
