The exterminator is coming today to deploy Delta Dust (Deltamethrin) behind the walls in the kitchen to address a carpenter ant issue.
While this is considered safe to use around mammals, the manufacturer lists it as highly toxic to marine life and warns to use caution when deploying where fish tanks are located.
Delta Dust is deployed behind walls via small holes punched into the sheet rock. It is contained behind the walls and not something which is released into the room itself.
My tanks are set up in the den and the kitchen is directly above, which is where the dust will be deployed.
I'm relatively confident that deployment by a licensed technician will go off without incident, I'd like to know what precautions I should take.
