Hi all

I have been in the hobby for 10 years now but after moving to Florida last August and selling my tank.

I finallllyyyy was able to get a tank after the birth of my baby boy a month ago and just so happened upon a free 180 and stand!

This is my 180 mixed reef build that I started June 18.

Picked it up today did a water test and everything looks good. So I'll be repainting and cleaning this thing to get this setup ASAP. No hood so I'll be building one unfortunately.

Was going to spray paint the stand but wanted more color options, so got some glidden semi gloss fossil grey and am going to make the bottom trim of the stand and some trim around the tank itself eggshell white.

Found the date made sticker July 22, 1996... no wonder it has wood grain as I figured it was an older tank. But it looks really good for 20 years old and it was free so not complaining too much...

Did a quick sanding now to clean it up, what a mess. lol

Started bleaching all my oldrock. Had a sizable crab float up, red and white speckled with black claws. Should have taken a pic before I threw it.

Stand is coming along good. Finished painting and put doors on and new hinges/door knobs. Gonna go back over the doors with paint again however. Next will be building the canopy...

Canopy built and functions as intended.

Definitely not a pro job, since I'm not a carpenter by any means and this is my first anything I've built with wood lol

Will be adding some white trim shortly.

Rails installed. Testing out the light spread, need to move the lighting back a few inches since it's spilling by out the front, but it's coming along!

Finally caught up with a neighbor and tank is up!

Still gotta put some edging on and touch up the scuffed paint but it's on.

Lit up.

3 day of cycle with a dead shrimp,now it's just a waiting game. No fish for at least 4-6 weeks as the rock was bleached and sand was cleaned out well, no live anything.

I tempted to go get some sand from the beach but the Cyanobacteria levels have been high due to discharges from lake okeechobee.
