prefilter

Hi. I have a canister sunsun hw 3000 and i'm thinking to use a prefilter on it. If I use this one (linked) plugged in the canister i will lose power of hw 3000, making less filtration per hour? Its a good choice to use a pré-filter, maybe become more easy to make cleans? Tks...
