SPS Tank(Boring).... LPS TANK ( I assume this is SPLIT Starting ) Blasto??

SPS tank is a bit slow and boring. (Boring is good, since nothing Major Wrong)
However I solved a Left Side (Cyano/Brown Algae) Issue.

FEW WEEKS AGO...My Sea Swirl stop moving (happened before, due to broken gear).
BIG JOB to fix, so won't bother.
That really dropped my random flow on the Left Side of Tank. Which started the Brown/Cyano on rocks.

It got stuck a fully Forward.
It has a Nice VCA Random Flow Generator TIP (But with no movement, the flow wasn't idea)

So I pointed the Swirl fully Left (across the Length of Tank) and added my spare Koralia Pump to cover the corner.

Things started clearing up quickly (on left side). It should continue.

TODAY I noticed my LPS Tank Coral doing something wierd.
I got two of these LPS (not sure of the species), and they been nicely puff up for a few months.

THIS IS ONE. No changes.

This other One Look like above, and TODAY I noticed it did this.

Looks like it's Splitting 7 ways.

Anyone know what Kind of Coral it is. Blasto?

SACRIFICIAL ALTAR for Copperband ( Fancy name for Feeding Station )

My new Copperband stopped liking the Masstik Food.

So I had a few frozen clams in freezer. HE WENT Nuts. But Kept Flipping over the Shell...when taking bites.

This solved it.

When he polishes off the Meat, I'll just Stack/Glue in the Next Clam Piece.

** BIG PROBLEM ** ((( SLOW DRIP LEAK ))) In Wall Hoses (Between Basement & First Floor Tank )

This is something I don't need right now.

2020-03-29_SlowDripLeak.jpg

It started a couple days ago. I lowered pump speed and it stoppped.

Today it started again, so it's a pending distaster if I don't fix.

I have a replacement hose, but big job is opening panels. Cutting that White Condiut.

MUST BE DONE!!

No such luck.
I replaced the downflow hose (easy....Just attached the new hose and pulled it thru using old hose)

Tested the old Hose after removal. No leaks. (Darn!!)
Ran the pump, and leak showed up, so it's the Pressurized hose (which I thought was the culprit)
I guess the hoses were overlapped somewhere, given me the false indicator.

Time to replace the other hose. Bit more tricky since Floor hose is offset and more turns.

LEAK (FIXED) 2nd Hose Replaced ( FUTURE PROOFed with Foam Padding )

Both hoses replace and tank up and running!! :) :) :)

I found the hose leak point. The hose was leaning against a sharp edge of the Conduit at a 90 degree turn.
Over 2 years it cut through.

I lined the area with FOam to prevent this from happening again.

One day I hope to be at your level. I love DIY, and I plan to keep getting better at it. I do my lights, dosing, stand, canopy...... But an alk monitor.

Jaw dropping. Truly.

I cant imagine this tank becoming anything other than a work of art

Thanks @Phildago, that's a really nice compliment. Appreciate it!!

Do you share any of your DIY project online. I Always have room to learn from others (with any idea/creative thing)

As far as my Tank and work of Art..... I hope so. Someday...

Yes, Alk monitor is a strong step in the right direction.

I'm watching it a lot, and hope to eventually finished the Sister Smart Doser.

For now it helps even with Manual Dosing adjustments...

Things look good, and ALK always ruined positive progress in past. At home (neglect/distractions) or away on vacation.

GOT THIS ( WATER/FLood Alarm) AMAZON ( Great little Gizmo) ** Future Proofing **

After that Leak that I didn't detect under DryCore Raised floor (Till it show up on fringes).....GOT THIS $cheap$ detector.

I looked a few, but this one has Low Battery Alarm (which is important)

I have my Apex Sensors, but only if Tank overflows.

  1. One I will put under drycore floor.
  2. One near my RO resevoir (if float switch fails, and it has)
  3. ANd one for kitchen behind sink (where I had a low leak before, but never saw it behind all the bottles and stuff)

HERE IS MY TEST. ** WORKS PERFECT* (TURN ON YOUR SOUND!!)

- Sensitive to water. Wick action.
- Low Battery Audible Alert
- Ear Splitting loud
- Suction cup on unit is garbage, but I'll glue or screw)

I have a few other areas, that I've had leaks (may get more)

Man.... things are Boring in the SPS Tank full of Frags. (So some new Frags to making things interesting)

My Original FRAGS don't seem to be encrusting, or growing (At All)
I figure I won't see much movement for a 2-3 months.

At least they are not dying.

So...LFS store offered Free Delivery of some dry good during the Pandemic.
I took the opportunity to scoop up a few new Frags.

I haven't let the House for a few weeks.
Just twice to do essential Groceries. Wearing Protective Clothes, Hat,, Gloves, and N95 Mask.
The N95 I discovered in my House by luck (last week).
When I did the last reno I got a 3 Pack for doing dusty drywall. I never even knew what a N95 was, till recently.

No High End Frags, EXCEPT ONE is Special.
I got a Replacement SCORPION, which hasn't been available for ages.

Online they looked like this.

They arrived yesterday (A photo in my SUMP).

2020-04-05_NewFrags-Delivered.jpg

The New Scorpion is not as nice as the Last Scorpion I got (below).
Better than Nothing...since the last one got seriously damaged and I threw it out too early.

( TOmorrow I'll mount them in DT)
