@WallyB What do you feed your fish? There are a couple people who have noticed food with vitamin C maybe causing or part of a cause for cyano. @jsker

Just a thought
I mostly feed Hikari Frozen Brine Shrimp with Spirulina. Cobalt Premium Flake in between.
But maybe, I'm over doing the Vitamins. (Kent Zoe, and Boyd VitaChem). Both mineral and Vitamins (Vitamin C)
And just started Selcon (it has Vitamin C as well).
SO TRIPLE Vitamin C...and Quadruple if the Food has any Vit-C.

You may have a point. I started that recently, and do it daily, sometimes do Food Soaking Twice.
I'll only use one Food enhancer at a time and I'll cut back to every other day, and see what happens. (Actually, I'll cut out all Vitamins. Only Once a week, and Do only Selcon every other day)

Actually @Fudsey THATS BRILLIANT!!!

When I was reading the Vitamin/Food Additive bottle, Vitamins are liquid form, Selcon has the Fatty Acids etc.
And it does say you can ADD Vitamins TO WATER.

If the Anthias won't eat solid foods, I can add the liquid additives to the QT tank water (just 10 Gals so won't need much). He'll get some breathing it in. Can't Hurt.

I also have some Liquid Garlic Guard. Garlic is a wonder cure for many things.

If the fish makes.....you'll be my Hero!! I'll name it Fudsey!

Interesting..... Selcon has "CYANOcobalamin" as one of their main ingredients.

Nothing to do with Cyano Bacteria. It's vitamin B12.
But interesting coincidence.

And after more reading. It's mind boggling.
-> Cyano Bacteria produces B12...while most ocean life uses it.
-> Spirulina is actually a Biomass of Cyanobacteria
-> Vitamin C is part of this chain of reactions.

This biology is all over my head. (but these two simple articles are a good read :) haha )

You want to add mysis. Brine is not ideal food by itself. That's like feeding a cheetah lettuce.
Believe me I tried.

I still have a whole pack of individually sealed cubes in my Freezer.
They wouldn't eat it. I hated seeing raw meat floating around the tank. Mysis are larger.

But did just get them to eat the Freeze Dried Mysis soaked into Selcon. I would crush the Dried Mysis pieces to make them smaller.

Maybe now would be a good time to try the Frozen Mysis again.
I would be ideal for more hearty portion food.

I found for whatever reason my fish tend to love the Mini mysis. So if you can get mini mysis give that a go. They absolutely refuse to eat the big PE mysis. No clue why.

Mine were the same way. I returned a package minus a couple cubes because they wouldn't touch the big pieces but the mini gets devoured... :)

This is what I have in my Freezer now.

Is one of these the Mini Mysis type?

Don't want to waste more money on food they won't eat.

I just noticed this. VITAMIN C again.

I am adding Vitamin C on top of Vitamin C. Need to stop the extra Vitamins daily.

Pretty interesting stuff. When I stopped the aminos the Cyanobacteria in my tank stopped spreading. Then strangely, a few days after that, it picked up again. The change? I started using Selcom for the first time. LOL. Today I gave the tank a massive cleaning of rocks and filtration. I am going to stay really basic for the next week or two, stay away from additives and such (only 2-part). Then I will watch and test.

The aminos really boosted my SPS, but they were not bad before that. They are still growing decent and colorful since I stopped adding.

@NY_Caveman , you hit it on the NAIL!!!

Beside Patience....The next more important Secret to Success is "stay away from additives"...
It's hard to do....we get all hooked on Snail Oil Promises. (Snake)
I highly respect one of my Frag Suppliers and his amazing 500G Tank.
His Colonies, and Frags grow, have colors, and great PE.
No Snake oils...None.....Just Fish Poo, and lots of it since many fish.

Flakie Anthias UPDATE ( Looks a bit Better TODAY ) Video

Hey @Fudsey @Rakie

I'm not out of the woods yet.

At least Flakie isn't a Zombie anymore. (Fudsey+Rakie = Flakie)

Not in a Vertical Trance....like last few days...
Moving around. Sniffed at food passing by which is a Big Change.

Hard to believe that he may actually live....

See for yourself. I shot this video after light came on. He might be still waking up.

Will keep watching and Fresh Water Dip is still a consideration. (Tough decision)

I would have agreed until I tried coral essentials. Nothing has done what it claims until I tried them
