I have been distracted with life but I was waiting to have this coral arrive and thus far I think I got Passed Over in the initial frag distribution?

I have too many new frags anyway- How did Adam know?

I believe I completed the purchase way back when, and that was the last I heard of the contest. I decided to look into it today since time is passing. I also assume I made an error in selecting icons (bad eyes) along the way and have been crazy distracted with personal issues that have made my participation in a grow out contest a much lower priority than a reefer should give. Sorry.

March check-in: A bit more than one month of (no) growth. No need for a ruler on this update. Paled quite a bit and hasn’t grown much, if any, for the first month. Polyps are always fully out, like they're trying to jump out of the skeleton. What’s funny is that the Millis, Pearly Cadaver, Bohemia, Acroberry, etc that came in with the Sarmi are all encrusting nicely and ahead of my usual results for shipped frags. But this guy doesn’t seem to like my tank. Could be the super high flow, could just be taking its time, who knows. The wife and I went on a long (and very late) honeymoon and the tank had some differences in Kalk / two part dosing, but it didn’t appear to affect any of the other Acros in my tank so who knows. If this frag doesn’t grow significantly in another month I’ll try a new spot. Always time for a comeback.


Parameters:
Alk: 7.7 dKH (was down at 6.0 after the honeymoon, went up a bit too fast ~1.2dKH last week when I tried to raise it)
Ca2+: 380 ppm
Mg2+: 1410 ppm
Salinity: 38+ppt
Temp: 76.7-77.4F over last month
pH: 8.0-8.25 min-max daily swing over last week
NO3 and PO4: who knows. High.
Added another male Evansi Anthias around the time of acquiring this coral and the anthias has been a bit shy so I was feeding heavy to coax him out. For 3 weeks he was only around when I was >6 feet from the glass. His hidey-hole is 3 feet from the automatic feeder outputs so he isn’t getting any food from those. Tank watchers fed pretty heavy too I think. He’s now made it a month and is one of the most active feeders in the tank but I’d have to imagine the extra feedings would have increased nutrients. Lower macro growth in the fuge than expected though so maybe all the extra feeding was sucked up by coral growth. Sad Sarmi frag can be seen doing nothing in front of the resplendent.

Including the month of growth from the BC Pearly Cadaver for proof that my tank is not devoid of life lol. Really underrated piece, it glows up at the top of my tank! I mounted it horizontally towards the front panel so the pictures are admittedly not the best.

@StatelineReefer My March update. No real change. Bottom looks white on this because i tried acclimating it to a higher par area and it might not have liked it. Also had a spike in nutrients since i was topping off the auto-feeder the day before on the tank and somehow a good handful just spilled into the tank . Last: my ALK: 6.8 per Hanna and 9.6 per Salifert soooo ‍

Actually looks like it loved it. That's new growth, compare to your first pic.

Supplement for tissue growth, raise ph and alk slightly, and once it's based out, you should see strong upward growth.
