My February update is of a sad note. STN.
My alk was at a low of 7.3, i started doseing AFR to bring it up slowly. Im floating 8-8.3 now. Sadly enough i thought to also reduce feeding/ab+ slightly to avoid algea (witch i have none, dumby). Oh and also adjusting the fragrack every few days to seal the deal! And lets not forgot the great forgetting of turning the return pump back on causeing temp swing! I watched a joker 2.0 go through RTN within 60 seconds. Wild yall!
GOOD LUCK!

Ok, got the official ruler, so here's my initial frag measurement.

Alk - 9.9
Calcium - 425
Mag - (need new reagent)
NO³ - 8.5 ppm
PO⁴ - 5 ppb

Running Reef Moonshiners Method.

Currently in frag tank under a 36" viparspectra at ~350 PAR. Will move to the display when motivated to glue stuff.

That is an uncalibrated yellow tang, Sailfins are much better for measurement as they have graduated markings.
Okay NOW we are getting somewhere lol.

For the uninitiated, these threads singular purpose is to amuse & entertain. A fine example right here.

Nutrients adjusted last week; felt it was too low in my system: Removed Chaetomorpha yesterday; added 40 ml of B-Ionic Nitrate over a 5-day period last week. Had to scrape all glass panels of algae buildup last week too. Increased Mg & Ca lvls last month to outcompete algae growth in favor or coralline algae growth. Live rock is well seasoned at 4-5 years old. Lastly, old skimmer has always pulled loads of gunk out of the system; have to clean every 5 days or so. It seems there’s more skimmer output than feeding from my point of view.
Phosphate 0.04 ppm (0.04 - 0.09 is good)
Nitrate 15-20 (desired lvl)
Alk 8.45 (desired lvl)
Mg 1440 ppm (aiming for 1450)
Ca 480 (450 ppm is my desired lvl)
