Well I did it, today I ordered a Joe's Glass Cages custom tank to replace the 72 bow front. The bow front's center brace is cracking way from the back of the tank, and since it is almost impossible to find a Tom's Aqua Pump for the CPR over flown a replacement is in order.

It will be 8 to 12 weeks before the system is shipped. I need to build a new larger sump to the system.

Stay tuned!!

Next the questions

do I redo the old scape like it is or create a new look with the existing rock?

Do I add a think layer of black sand again, white sand, or no sand at all.

As for the scape, I am thinking island. I am also going to get the rock off the back glass for better circulation.

I just put in a poll for the sand question.
I'm going to put my vote for black sand because of how unique it looks. Can't go wrong with any of the options, though.

I agree, I have back sand now. I also have a black granite top.

One thing about the black sand, is the sand will stick to the glass cleaning magnet. I have been pretty good, but I do have a couple of scratches in the glass.

Hello . I voted for white sand, but I want you to know that there is also silver and red sand in an island in Iran that has the color of Hormuz Island in parsian golf . Silver sand makes it very special . I plan to travel there and bring myself some silver sand

Thank you for your input. The silver sand sound something that would be different. I will have to do a search to see if the sand is available for reef tanks here.

@kian.aeineh question; are you referring to the unipac aquarium silver sand link?

I kind of like the idea of silver sand, if I can find it.

I was doing to thinking on my sump and mixing tank situation. I am thinking of ordering a glass sump and mix tank or making remaking the sump and a different mixing tank out of acrylic.

Here is what I came up with
Sump and mixing tank 5-7-23-Model.png

The smaller holes are for drains and accidental over filling. The drains are great to have in place for maintenance/cleaning and the overfill have saved me a couple of head aches with over filling so that the water to not top of the sump if there is more water in the DT then there is supposed to be.
