Finally, I found a 120g for a used price $200.
She’s the ugliest most beautiful thing I have ever laid eyes on. I’m going to strip the two overflows, add a ghost overflow and oh so much more to get this one wet again. I decided to put my money towards reputable equipment, instead of the glass box. (Good timing considering frameless tanks are losing fashion, dang you Red Sea.)
My previous tank was a cadlight 60g and just a frameless beauty. That tank grew coral but limped by with basic equipment. (Lighting,Powerheads, manually dosing) Time to flourish and establish a low maintenance 120g for this reefer.

Today’s 120g specs!

Here we go, breaking down the 120 to move to the new house.

I manage to get it in the truck bed by myself. If I ever upgrade to a larger tank, I will definitely be dependent on help to maneuver it.

I am pretty sure moving a reef tank has been in my nightmares . I know myself and the fam would get through it but the stress would be high! Happy to read quickly that it was pretty successful!

I agree the stress is immense. One of my tangs never acted the same afterwards. But I am happy to report zero deaths or damages. Thanks for checking out my build! Hoping to post more about the frag tank as it develops.

Not much to update on the frag tank but a few things happened.
I did in fact need to take the pump out because it was noisy and needed an oring
995EC10D-592E-4858-AEC0-2D1EDE7430F3.jpeg

I added a few tester corals and I wanted to test out hydrogen peroxide against the algae that’s been a problem on a few pieces. I used a 50% peroxide to tank water mix, dipped coral for 2-3 minutes and returned them to the frag tank. It’s been two days and the coral are still closed. Don’t think I’ll be doin that again. Algae was vaporized tho so mix feelings for sure.

I added a lip behind the weir to help the water cascade more quietly onto the filter floss. Removed about 95% of the noise so that’s a win

As I spend hours gazing and contemplating at the little frag tank my right hand man comes to give me company. He loves getting his little hands wet.

Moving reef tanks Can be very stressful, but if done smartly, the stress can be hugely reduced.

Having all of the needed equipment, staging containers, water, life support devices and a Written plan to follow from start to finish is the way.

I've got a full write up on by build thread of at least 2 full tank break down and transfers from last year for reference as well.

Proper Prior Planning makes it a Lot more fun of an experience.

I'm sorry to say it, but ya messed up adding those Pandora's in with the Zoas... Pandoras will grow over and shade out about anything.

Manual removal is going to be a constant process even (safely scraping) the mat of the Pandora's off your rock, they will be coming up again in a few weeks.

May consider fragging as many of your Other Zoas off of the rock, without getting any flesh from the Pandora's and starting a new rock. This is probably the route I would take.
Yeah I do admit that it was a big mistake. I introduced it like two years ago and was like heh I suck at this it wont grow that much then BOOM a Plaque. I might just reset the thing, need to somehow convince the family to let me frag it. they wont let me touch it, for some reason they are severely attached to it along with my massive bubble coral that I want to get rid off but cant.

It is far too easy to become complacent these days, especially when your routine is the same, day in and day out.
It’s hard to appreciate the little moments when the days are stressful. But it gets easier when your reminded how quickly things can change. When your reminded what really matters to your heart.
Hold your family closely today because tomorrow is promised to no one.
May God bless you and forever keep you, in Jesus name Amen.
