Finally, I found a 120g for a used price $200.
She’s the ugliest most beautiful thing I have ever laid eyes on. I’m going to strip the two overflows, add a ghost overflow and oh so much more to get this one wet again. I decided to put my money towards reputable equipment, instead of the glass box. (Good timing considering frameless tanks are losing fashion, dang you Red Sea.)
My previous tank was a cadlight 60g and just a frameless beauty. That tank grew coral but limped by with basic equipment. (Lighting,Powerheads, manually dosing) Time to flourish and establish a low maintenance 120g for this reefer.

Today’s 120g specs!

Very cool thread. Thank you for sharing. I am looking forward to seeing your progress.
Thank you brother. I am going to transfer my 60g to this tank. I’ll keep posting pictures along the way.

I ordered some ocean rock off amazon. Super dirty and clogged pores. Man I wish I could still buy pukani from brs

There are two big rocks. One in each bucket. One rock has good pores (dirty bucket, the other rock looks like sand and salt clogged the pores. The clogged rock bucket has clearer water. I suspect it is because water is not penetrating or flowing threw the rock.

If you need to cut ocean rock. Do yourself a favor and buy a wet saw. This hand saw stuff was brutal.

The moment when water finally reaches the sump after filling your large aquarium with a 75gpd rodi unit! It’s like the icing on a cake. Or in reefing terms, the new budding heads of that really expensive CoraL you almost didn’t buy haha

I installed the algae scrubber today and I’m really excited how everything has come together.

I added two clowns to keep the bacteria fed. I used marine pure from my 60g sump. Also one piece of live rock from my 60g to kick start the cycle. I am asking a lot from the bacteria, with all this new sand and dry rock. I plan to take my time adding fish and will use bio spira during each addition. I found these outlet timers controlled by wifi of 10 bucks

Sure beats these old big ones from way back when

Nice Tank! I'm Following!
Thank you! That put me in the mood to take a full tank shot :).
image.jpg
The tank looks a bit empty without my 60g’s centerpiece but I’m waiting for the tank to mature before I add it. Mainly because the encrusted corals would be to hard to remove. Here is a quick pic of that 60g
image.jpg

A big reason for this upgrade was my limited space for filtration in this 60g stand.

I can spend hours staring at my sump. It brings me great peace to see the water moving through the equipment and baffles. Feeling the saltwater bug bite a bit more then usual these days :p
