Are you saying, you didn't see the SSC hiding/growing till today?
If that's true, that's amazing, and Great News indeed.

That coral piece is not really in the center of the tank anymore so I lost focus on it for a while.
It had no polyps and was brown for a while but looks much better now.
I hope it continues to grow. although it is not in a favourable spot for the moment.

I mainly use two lens, a 60mm macro and a 55 - 200mm zoom lens. I do still need to crop the pics or there is a lot of the pic showing background. I just bought a 90mm macro that should be here Wednesday so I’m interested to see how that works.

What lens are you using?
The depth of field of your pictures is overall very good.
With my 105mm macro lens, it is almost impossible to get the base and tips in focus.
But for detailed shots, it is the best lens.

I'm liking all the money cowrie pictures I've been randomly seeing in threads lately. One of my favorite critters, they seem to eat the broadest range of algae including bryopsis.

There are 3 cowries in the tank now.
And one is hiding for a long time already, sitting on some eggs under an echinopora.

The funny thing is that I never added them to the tank directly. They all came as small snails on frags of live rock.
I love how they cover their shell in the weirdest forms when happy and comfortable.

Some soft corals

I love the photosynthetic gorgonias. I wish there were more available here.
They bring a nice touch and movement to the tank

And mushrooms, spreading like wild fire... as does the cyano from time to time.

This acro frag has been in the tank forever.
Being an acro I always believed it would to well in high flow and higher PAR levels, but it seems to be more happy in low light.
I have high hopes for this one.

Plating monties have not been the easiest in the tank. After I found flatworms on some of them, all were removed and dipped, but other previous issues had me remove them completely.
The encrusting ones are still doing well

The only thing that will really get rid of your Monti eating flatworms, will be removal and dipping consistently, problem is the eggs they keep laying, like most pests.

Sucks about reefers selling pieces they got for free, I have learned to be cautious with the folks I trade now, we’ve all been burned before I guess, doesn’t mean it still sucks.

I also have been thinking about trimming in order to promote branching and growth. I’ve started with my Walt Disney, huge encruster, but not impressive with upward growth. I’m not scientifically documenting, but if I see a positive change from clipping the tips, I’ll proceed to do so with all my acros.

It will be interesting to see how the sps evolves after trimming.
I understand that flow has a huge influence on the growth of the sticks and plates.
Every coral must have it in his genes to chose for a strong base before reaching further out to the light. Others just do not encrust at all.

Free fish food !!!

Your thread is one of the few that always makes me wish I had a better camera lol.. I just can't invest in a DSLR for pictures unless I'm selling $500 frags like candy

Thanks all.
I am glad all is recovering and doing well now.
It became clear to me that it is better to let the tank run its course instead of forcing it to perform better.
My change to higher ALK was unnecessary. Another lesson learned.

These are the last pictures.

The BTA and clown couple.
After loosing their eggs last week, another batch was added to the rocks behind the anemone, 3 days ago.

This (I believe pink dragon) frag is all what is left after the colony started RTN a couple of weeks ago.
Gladly I could take this frag.
Slowly it is recovering, but still fragile.
