Something is eating or bothering the corals.
All this happened on 1 night. Those corals are all over the place and not next to each other.

And i suspect this guy...
This picture is not from the one in the tank. It is a black sailfin blenny... aca combtooth.
I saw mine maybe twice this year, but he is still in there...

Hey Janci,
Finally got out of my Tank World since I Super Automated things as you know. (Have lots of spare time)

Catching up on your thread.
Hmmm. Pack the Coral Eating Fish when you move (skip the Water).
However are you sure it's the Fish. Are there damage marks where he might not possibly be able to Reach. (That might confirm it's not him)

So you are moving to Another Continent, possibly back to America.
I assume you will only move Dry Goods/parts, and not corals/fish?

I need to rewind and catch up on your Thread, but Sounds like a New One will be coming eventually.

Quick Check on ALK (Frag Tank) Water Changer Impact

My Frag Tank (Weekly) Full Parameter Water Test isn't Due yet...

2019-07-04_TankMateMinder.jpg

I trust my Tank Mate Minder Feature to Keep me on Top of Proper Tank Husbandry.

So I checked just ALK and LAST TEST (Frag Tank) ALK=8, so it dropped to ALK=7.45 in 3 days.

Calculations suggest the Frag Tank will need APPROX 2-4 Ml of ESV Dosing Daily.

Time to finish the Mini-Mate Doser.

Yeah, it’s the blenny for sure. I had the exact thing happen in a tank 10-12 years ago and it took me a long time to figure out the cause but I finally caught it in the act.
Those little jerks are scraping of the tissue from the sps.

Best of luck with the move when it comes to that!

And? Did the calculations work out for the alkalinity?
Which reagent do you use for your tester?

Janci,
Did you ever get your Dastaco to smooth out?
Good! Get to Northern 'Murica and you can setup that 400g we always wanted and stuff it with overpriced named pieces !
Just here to demand an update :D
Yeah! The people demands an update!
Pitchforks at the ready!!

"Tough Crowd"
Just here to demand an UD as well!

Well, I have been lacking on updates I guess. :p:p
The tank has been sitting alone for the past 3 weeks as I was on a holiday. Before leaving I changed water and cleaned the skimmer and was about to update the thread but this action was lost in the many other actions prior to holidays. Hahaha.

But last Saturday I got back home and found the tank in a not so good state. The fish were fine but the corals again are losing colour and many tips are burned. PE is very little.
I checked the parameters and all looks ok.
Alk 7.7
Ca 460
Mg 1360
NO3 5
PO4 0.01

I am not sure what is happening so I did a water change and cleaned some wave makers.

Still did not have time for pictures. That will be for later this week/weekend... if there is time.
My wife is at 39 weeks so it might get busy soon.

As I went to home, I took advantage to pick up these products.
I will stop the Coral Essentials and replace it with the Tropic Marine K+ and A- Elements.

And these foods and iodine as this was always lacking in the system.

Janci,

Hi Freddie, not really.
It keeps making foam in the CO2 chamber. I could not change that yet.
Maybe now with the new Tropic Marine elements this could be solved. Time will tell.
Alk on the other hand seems to be ok for now.

Try dosing a little po4?
Salt levels ok?

Just a quick picture of one of the corals.
The tips had lost polyps and STN is now further progressing downwards.
The water change of last week reduced the STN a little. I'll be trying to do another eater change this weekend.

Quick update.
I did weekly waterchanges since I am back from holidays. It seems to help the tank in general.
Colours seems better and PE is out overall.

I added the Tropic Marin Elements and am dosing 6ml a day for each bottle. No harm yet... :p

Some coral did not recover well from the past weeks.
Some started stn-ing.

I have an algae problem now.
Some dark grass is growing on the rocks and back window. Bubble algae started spreading as well.

As I do not want to dose anything (have no time for it anyway), I got me this little work horse today. I hope he thrives and others leave him in peace.
No quarantine for him. I got him from the LFS coral tank where he was grazing the frags clean for a couple of weeks already. He looks healthy.
Always a guess, but this feels good.

That is all for now.
Gabriela is already overdue with the baby coming. If he does not come naturally in a couple of days, inducing will happen on Wednesday.
Happy and busy days!!!
