Just a sump pic

60 breeder tank, reefmat 1200, 2 Jager heaters plugged into an InkBird, Aquatop Cyclone skimmer, ball of Cheato under Walmart Grow light and 2 Hagger 1720 DC pumps

I picked up a Hanna checker for nitrate (the api was a pain for nitrate and I wasn’t confident with it) but after the most recent water change I had almost 30 PPM and since then everything in my sump has brought it down to 9 PPM when it gets closer to 0 I’ll use the grow light less

Velvet wipe out…… another fail right at the start of this tank due to my negligence

going to do better on my my third attempt

I have a long fishless period ahead of me and I’m guna recreate my first SW tank which I had much better luck with…. A peacock mantis as the main inhabitant and some free swimming fish

in the past tank I had 2 clowns, a damsel and a wrasse with my mantis without issue … I even had a brittle like I do now and my mantis didn’t bother him

made a PVC cave with 3 openings and covered it with rock

New year, new rockscape! The purple mag went for a walk this week so I thought now would be a good time to remove the rocks on that side of the tank and creat a pillar I’ve been wanting for some time. After clearing out the rocks and vacuuming the detritus build up after 5 years, I epoxied a leftover shelf rock to a column rock I had lying around in the garage and let it cure overnight.

My hope is that the mag will better isolated and I have more space for corals. I was also able to put the maxima clam on its own pillar so it’s closer to the lights. As soon as the other mag begins to wonder around I’ll do the same to the other side of the tank.
