I personally would not buy the bangii due to the viral issue with them. Anthias - I would suggest a large number - as compared to a small number - due to the fact that like discus - they tend to go after the weakest until the strongest remains. Everyone is going to say yellow tang is to big - I think its fine. Kole as well. Mandarin - need to make absolutely sure its eating - before you buy.

Would it be okay to buy some bangii from biota or ora? I lost some probably from the virus a year ago and I want to get some again.

Sorry - I don't know how long that virus can persist without a host. I have heard that other fish, like batfish, can catch the virus, but not die from it. Can they then act as carriers? Again, I don't know......

Looks good! Might have some fighting with the cardnial as they pair up in male/female pairs but otherwise looks good! That jawfish I have read and heard is a cold water fish and doesnt do well in standard reef temp long term so maybe sub that jawfish for another kind?

Can it come from captive bred places like biota and ora though?

Mandarins need a very stable environment. Personally, I'm gonna wait about 6 months to a year before pulling the trigger on that one. Not sure what the 'rule' is now, but back in the day, it was to wait a solid year.

That depends on their biosecurity - viruses can be tricky to keep out of a system.

I do know that there has been major issues with "tank raised" Banggai from overseas having the virus. That could be a mix of poor biosecurity, them adding new wild broodstock to their systems, selling "pen raised" cardinals as "tank raised" or plain outright lying about their origins.

Domestically raised cardinals, not mixed with wild caught fish, seem fine though.
