She could be... If she survives long enough to eat the fish and shrimp she might greatly reduce the waste for a short time...at least until she adds her waste or becomes part of the waste at which time there may be a significant ammonia spike. I wonder if cat food is low in phosphates....?

Yes but I think the cat was going into the refugium. I see where you’re going here, the cat definitely needs to go into the display.

I decided I'm probably going to do a Yellow Wrasse and maybe a Pinstripe Wrasse. Hopefully I'll get a nice colony of bristleworms from the 5 gallon when I transfer it over because my wife also wants a six-line and maybe a dottyback.

I'm thinking I may go grab a couple of hermit crabs and snails before I leave but it would probably just raise.my nitrates since there's no algae or fish waster yet.

I know it's not your first rodeo sorry if I sounded like a jerk.
You don't sound like a jerk! When a friend gives advice to keep me from making a mess it's called good advice! I always appreciate good advice even if it's something I thought of. It means you're looking out for me.

Isn't that the AR300? The AF has that weird flow where it flows under the Fuge and then up through a media chamber and then to the return.

As for the cat, I have one of my own. She lives under my bed and only leaves for food, water, and the toilet!
It's the AF300... you can't see in the picture cause it's on the other side, but it does have the bypass flow under the fuge.

Ok. I want the AR300. The AR200 could work but I think it would be a little too small.

Last night after we got home from dinner I installed quail watering cups in the coop. After that, I had a little bit of time so I glued the return piping. That'll be coming in tonight. I don't think I'm going to actually run the sump while I'm gone - too much extra work for my mother-in-law since I'd have two ATOs to keep an eye on. I also dropped the return piping that's inside the tank in last night and temporarily hooked it up to the pump for extra flow.

We're packing for Missouri right now, but I think I'm almost ready for the rocks!!!!! Last check we were at 1.021, added a couple more scoops of salt (using BRS salt calculator) and once it's done mixing for a bit the rock will start coming in. Sand, bacteria and a still period to let the sand settle after that. I'll turn the powerheads on tomorrow so we get some movement so the water doesn't go stagnant when I'm away. When I get back home I'll top off and turn everything on, run some tests, and start stocking the "Crew".

Cycled rock is in - I used it to hide the return piping as much as possible. I've got another 50+ pounds in the 75 to transfer after a bit plus the 10ish pounds in the 5 that'll be moving over shortly after we return from Missouri.

Sand is in place! Not the best picture for obvious reasons.
IMG_20220704_124319304.jpg

I added a couple of bags of BioMagnet so hopefully it clears up soon!

40 pounds of pink Fiji AragAlive sand and 80 pounds of sand from the old 75 (not the current).
