Update the giant spider.:. We hoped to to the final spray foam done tonight but in moving the table we caused everything we added the back to round it the butt to fall off :anxious-face-with-sweat:….. lesson learned

Alright I went for it… :anxious-face-with-sweat:
I added two rocks below the main arch to raise the height so more light demanding corals would be pleased. I’m no 100 percent satisfied but it’s the only way I could get the rocks to lock the best

After

Hopefully the exposed rock I added doesn’t cause a PH problem :anxious-face-with-sweat::eek:. I guess we will see in the morning. :::fingers crossed::::.
Ps sorry for the crappy blue light pics. That all I could get for the night.

Good work.
Thanks. I spent the morning (not getting ready for work) and instead looking at the right side and thinking about how I can tweak it. It's driving my OCD a little nuts. I'll do better pictures later today when the light are on. As of this morning all in habitants seem ok. A little unsure as to what to do with themselves, but still ok :).

Couple full tank shots with daylights. I’m still not happy with the right side. However I am leaving it alone for now. I haven’t heard or seen my goby and pistol pair since last night. I’m really hoping I didn’t cause their base rock to shift enough to trap or crush them. Husband said it only moved a little when I refused to just be happy with it and keep trying to reposition the rock above it. He also keeps looking at me with big eyes and asking if I murdered them? Thanks babe..:::eye roll::::

Looks good! Could we get a shot oriented 90° as well? One issue I normally see with cubes, is when stacking the rock doesn't allow for coral placement/ dead mount areas.

Would it be possible or helpful to offset this top rock, a few inches back to open up some mounting surfaces and areas of the rock receiving light?

I get that gravity is an issue. Acrylic rods drilled in should make it possible.

I like it! What is it about the right side that you don’t like?

Hopefully the goby/pistol are fine, just laying low a bit after all of the commotion. I can’t imagine one of those bulldozers getting stuck in a burrow.

Thats a neat idea! I would have employ the help of @Mrs.F i s h y if I went that route. However, The black outline you did is not the entire rock. it also includes where your pink arrows are and shifting the arch that far back would then make several points touch the back wall, which then creates a maintenance headache. (If I am understanding your suggestion correctly) I think rather than mess with it ,I would rather build something else in the distance future, and swap it out with the top rock, that isn't so limiting. My most light demanding corals will have to go at the top of the top rock anyways, because I still run the stock LED lights and I dont think Duncans or hammers would take kindly to the par the middle of the tank offers. The plan for the rest of the tank is low demanding softies, mushrooms, sponges, RFAS etc.
One day I will get a bigger tank and get to do it my way from the very beginning. ;)

My biggest concerns is how little is locked into place to support the top rock. I don't like binding my rocks for maintenance purposes. However, as it sits, I'm worried about the lack of stability. the top rock has a lot of weird shapes where it connects to the other rocks so it is hard fit it, especially trying to do it inside the tank . I didn't want to remove the two very bottom rocks to try to figure it all outside of the tank. I was looking at it this morning (ok .....glaring) and I think if rotate the right middle rock 180 degrees, it will provide more base for the arch rock to grab. It would also create more room for the leather that is currently being pinched. Downside is, I think it would eliminate some or all of the nice horizontal mounting space it is currently creating.

My other grief with it, is that is just kind of clunky looking. Obviously once it fills in with corals it wont be that big of a deal, so I am less worried with astetics, and more first thing I mentioned.
