Hope everyone is doing well and had a great Holiday season. Have not done an update in a while because I’ve been having some problems with the tank. Here is a top down I just took this evening.

Thank you! I was lucky to get both of them. What kind of bird?

Well I woke up this morning to more bad luck... The big green scoly (space booty) fell off the rocks. This has happened a few times, but it fell on my Hammer coral this time and looks like it was there all night. Both corals have basically turned to slime/mush and skeleton where they hit each other. Crossing my fingers that both recover okay. I am permanently moving space booty to the sand bed from now on.

This kind! Actually he's really photogenic sometimes. Today was not one of those times
Wow that is super cool! Was not sure if you meant like some sort of bird coral or a real bird. That is a real bird all right! Tough to compare an exotic bird and coral. Both epitomes of the beauty of nature. I like the corals though because they stay silent for the most part haha.

Unfortunately the scoly looks like a zombie right now. It has made it through worse but not yet with the system it is in. Really hoping for the best. I will include a photo in this momentarily.

Both colorful and both put a dent in your wallet

Hello everyone. Hope all is well. I haven’t updated in a while as I have been very busy and experiencing tank problems (aiptasia + RFAs dying). I’ve lost 2-3 of the RFAs I imagine due to competition with the aiptasia or some other mystery problem I couldn’t solve. Nothing in the tank had changed.

My drummer has a new android and took some photos for me a couple months ago. I just found them in my phone and thought a few were worthy of sharing. Unfortunately the yellow pink / pink blue RFAs have since died. Last shot of them starting to shrink and move around. Thank the reef gods the two rainbows are doing well!

I got some berghias and Peppermint to combat the aiptasia. Most is gone but the peppermints starting eating some nice coral pieces and it took a week or two to get them out and disturbance of the reef. Glad they’re finally gone! I’ll share an update of the Fluval soon. Getting a maxi mini today I’ve been eyeing as the tank is finally picking up from the eradication of the aiptasia. In such a small high nutrient system they can wreak havoc quickly..

Update on the maxi mini I got a few days ago! It’s settled in at the back of the tank so it’s been hard to take photos. Eating already so I’m happy about that. Are riccordia and maxi mini / Bali reds all related? Thought I heard this. The maxi parked right next to the ric and they don’t seem to mind each other.

Was not thinking I would be adding any more fish, but a fellow reefer was giving up two masked gobies for a very good deal. Here is the latest addition! Within a matter of a couple days these fish are out all the time and friends with the current possum wrasse and Yasha goby.

Update on the Maxi Mini - It is doing well and has not moved since it found a spot. The sexys have switched allegiance from the Hammer coral to the maxi mini which I am happy about for the hammers sake, but miss seeing them in the front each day. Still makes for a great top down view. Unfortunately the camera phone doesn't represent that haha.
