Hey thanks!, I do, aminos make sense to me. I have not done a side by side or anything like that for comparison sake, but seem to look better. I started on Red Sea black bucket, but have switched to blue for the lower alk.

Thanks for welcoming me! I've been a member of both national (I live in Greece) and international forums, but R2R is truly special! So much information! I've already started a thread for my own tank, an 8g cube.

Well, I finally upgraded my nano to a 20 long. My 13 was a "widescreen", so it was very narrow. Didnt seem like an issue as a beginner, and it was a gift so tried it out. It got to be to hard to clean, as rock was practically touching glass. I would always end up breaking a piece off some coral. Knowing what I know now, I set up the scape to give me plenty of room. I settled for the long knowing its not a tall for mainly LPS. My 75 has been running over a year now so SPS has been moved over. Build thread to follow soon! Some progress pics...

So I completely replaced the sand with the same Hawaiian black, but rinsed well this time. Old sand was pretty dirty after fighting GHA. Didnt want to chance a nute spike or transfer algae etc. Added a 2nd HOB for cross flow/ good mixing, and kept the single Jebao OW-10 wavemaker. Seemed like more than enough for maily LPS. Lighting is the same as well with the 2 AI Prime 16's. Mainly just replaced tank and sand.

White light FTS. Aiptasia is getting thick. I think Im going to go with some Berghia to eradicate. I quit the Aip-X and F-Aiptasia...convinced it kills the mother, but in return plants 20. Havent really noticed more, just the ones I have are FAT

Howdy! I think its a combo of things. Get parameters in check, and keep them there as consistently as possible. Thats usually a first for all corals etc. Any idea where yours are at? My rhodies like lower flow, more than the zoas. I think adding aminos helps too.. Hows your lighting?

Calcium is at 440
Alk is usually too low but probably around 7-8
Nitrates 10 and Phosphates 0
p.h 8.1
temp 78 F

Zoas and rhodatics are located in the bottom middle. I use stock Biocube 32 lights which arent the best

Not bad. I know you want to have some detectable phos, like between .04 and .08, just not detectable. Not sure thats the cause tho. How long has your tank been running and how long have the corals been in there?

I think I probably have some phosphates as there are some algae clumps on the backwall of the tank. It's been running for a year and a half. The corals have been in there for probably 3-5 months. The first month they looked healthy but now the zoas only half open and the rhodactis hasn't grown

Hmmm. Not sure, really. Anytime ive had zoas not opening it was flow more than anything. Seems like theyve been in your tank long enough to acclimate. Sorry I dont have the exact answer!

This Acan looked especially good last night. So many different color variations, like a chameleon

Also brought the Fox Flame frag back into the 20 from the 75. Bleached pretty hard, thought for sure it'd be toast. But a little yellow has returned to a couple tips, and the purple is showing a little life. Fingers crossed

Little update...
So I went hunting for a week around Halloween. Of course I was out in the sticks and there wasnt much cell service. (preferred). I had everything setup on my 75 and 20 to be OK for a week. The only things that had to be done was feed fish and after 4 days, refill the ATO on the 20...the 75 ATO is large enough for 8 days.
Towards the end of the hunt I managed to get a text with photos saying "things are dying in the 20". When I got home, most Euphyllia was dead and/or dying. So bummed. Just bought a Dragon Soul too.
Weird thing is, params were pretty much where they always are...alk and ph was a touch low but they were:
1.026/78.5 F/ph 7.8/5 N/.03 P/1380 Mg/460 Ca/7.9 Alk
Everything else, fish included, looked very good with a purple stylo showing little to no P.E,
The only thing I can think of is he used tap water on accident instead of the RODI storage. I stressed this into oblivion I thought.
Or is there some disease or bacteria that targets Euphyllia only?
Couple water changes and felt everything was in a good spot.
Now my Dragon Eyes zoas are shrinking and disappearing. Trying to figure that out now lol
Forgive the blue photos, I didnt take them.
