Received my new lid from ClearView lids yesterday. Definitely worth the wait and money. I was in line for the classic lid when WWC posted their video on the new Pisces EXO lids on their tanks. I contacted Kerri at ClearView and she changed my order to the new lid. I’m glad I did because this lid looks great. The fit is perfect and my fish like it.

Finally got tired of my house looking like a grow house and people knocking on my door at 2am to buy weed. Trip to Home Depot and $15 later problem solved. Now I have night shades, now I can take the tin-foil off all the windows.

Well, Apex caused a problem and caught the problem. Kinda a catch 22. Good thing I was watching a movie and still awake. Nothing like having a leak alarm go off at 11:30pm

I have two leak sensors, one in a catch tray the sump sits in and one in my equipment cabinet. Both went off.

Searching for leaks, not seeing any water traces except for 1/4” in the tray and small amount in my equipment box.

I finally forced the ATK on and found the tube was coming out of the anti syphon and spraying out the tube access on my sump. Fixed that, cleaned my water up and dried the sensors. Now I’m awake!

So cool how something like that could've gone unnoticed until it made a huge mess. I wish I could afford such things.

80% of my equipment is used and took me two years of collecting. I bought 5 used tanks over the years and sold them. Made money on them and kept some of the equipment as I did. It was fun but I’m keeping this tank for a while.....I think

That's amazing. My build is the same, bit more like a 9 month old rough rushed prototype. All DIY and everything is used except the overflow, return pump, and gyres.

Saved thousands. Well done on the flipping to pay for the tank. Nice.

I tried to tag u in this thread:

Well, she finally showed up today. Got it set up and running. Not sure where I’m going to put it so it’s hanging out on the sump for now. Look forward to using it. 80A8B6F7-5729-4AA9-B1B9-BB75FC4ED58A.jpeg B92C25D9-EA24-45B2-A639-C307119D207B.jpeg F83EEF47-53AE-4D6C-8F34-B820399CD2E0.jpeg 63B745B4-7DCA-4D80-9098-5A9733692559.png

They should have made a square box instead of this pyramid.

Wire pass through holes all drilled and the boards all screwed together for a final test fit before paint.

Do you know if he used a router and a template to make these holes? I'm trying to copy them and can't seem to figure out how they were made so perfect!

Yes he used a router. He made templates and traced them on the cabinet walls. Then did it free hand. He’s that good lol
One more quick question, how does the control board attach to the 1x1's? Is it velcro?

The front panel can actually be pulled out at the bottom and slides down. That was kind of a accident the way that worked out but it has been a great way to access the wires. Otherwise, I would use a few screws to keep it in place. Velcro will wear after a while and there is some weight to that panel.

Well I thought I had a bad battery backup since I’ve been watching my volt meter drop over the last two weeks. When I installed the Trident in my cabinet I unhooked my other volt meter. Decided today to reconnect the second meter and find out what was wrong with my other battery. Seems I unplugged the power to the brick just a tad. Duh! I pushed the power in and my battery voltage jumped up 14.4 since its charging. Reason #31 volt meters should be on battery backups.

I sold my 28” snowflake eel last night and now came the daunting task of getting him out of the tank. I cut a 32” of 2” pvc last night and put it in the tank. Added a silverside to one side and within 5 min he had swam in it to eat. Left it in over night and added a cap with a hole on one side. I fed him twice last night and once this morning using the hole in the cap to slide a silverside in. When it came time to get him out I fed him again and he didnt come out.

He finally went in and I capped the entrance. Lifted the tube and then removed the cap to slide him in the bucket. Which he jumped right out of. Picked him up and put him in the bucket which he jumped out of...third time is the charm and he’s off to his new home.

Very clever way to outsmart an eel.

I added a indoor Co2 meter and asked Neptune to sell me a ASM module as a stand alone unit. Connected the Co2 meter to the ASM so I can monitor my Co2 on my Apex now. Which works out since I’m going to add a Co2 scrubber to keep my PH at 8.3.

Had to make room for one more module. Wonder if Neptune will do a swap out for old style models for the new ones. Lol

I’m also selling my AP700 and changing to Radions. So if you know anyone who wants a light. $650 shipped with the canopy brackets.

Also, crashed one of my phyto cultures last night. Just set it up last week for a fun project.
