Well I had to start another build now that my larger tank, a 57 gallon, is doing so well. My LFS has had this on sale for 99 bucks for months. I decided to do it. So on to the parts list.

Tank - 14g IM Fusion Peninsula
Light - AI prime 16 HD
Control - Apex JR. (Whenever USPS decides to deliver it.)
Heater - 100w eheim jager

The stand is made out of 3030 extruded aluminum. I then cut 1/4" MDF to fit inside of the slots.

Decided since the rest of the basement furniture and other tank stand it white, this should be too.

This is where it stands as of right now. Should have more updates this week.

So I had a chance to a bit more on the stand. I added some internal corner supports as well as added the top. The top is a piece of 3/4" maple plywood I had laying around. I then edge banded the board to make it look pretty.

I then drilled holes with a forstner bit about a 1/2" deep so that the bolt heads would sit below the surface. Here it is with the tank on it. I have some corner braces I want to toss on. Going to 3d print them orange to segway into my future plan

Don't mind the junk.

Might start messing with some aquascaping tonight. I have 11lbs of dry rock and 15lbs of sand to work with.

Some more progress the past two days. I was able to get the tank aquascaped, sand put in, and filled with water! It's hard to tell but there are a lot of holes and caves in the rock work. I also printed orange corner braces to sturdy everything up. I used the internal brackets as well.

Also started the cycle. Added a bottle of Dr. Tims one and only and a few drops of the ammonia. I changed 7 gallons from the 57 and used that water in this tank to add any bacteria to help.

Looking at whether I should upgrade the pump. Seems strong enough but see that everyone tends to upgrade it. Also looking in to an ATO. I have the Apex JR. On the way, was going to get the PM1 and build a BOB for it and tie float switches in that way. Then I have control so if the switch is open too long, I can shut off that outlet.

So not a lot of progress as the tank cycles but needed to come up a float switch bracket. So after a few revisions, I can't up with a working version. Also, my first project in Fusion360. Printed in PETG.

Making some headway. Made a small breakout box / switch and have the control board mostly put together. I'll mount it today onto the 3030. Cycle is almost done. I'll probably add a fish next weekend. Haven't decided on what yet.

Looks awesome so far. Really like that switch holder and the tube tunnel.
I printed it and it took soooo long due the rafts. It ended up printing support material in the tube itself. So that was a lot of wasted time. I put the first version into use and it's working great. When I get more time I'll circle back to it.

This is a sweet little bracket; but, I would offer up one modification that I would recommend. I would add a second float installed inversely. This way, you would have a high water cut-off in the event that you get calcification on the low water sensor. I offer this advice from experience. Adding a defer statement works on bigger tanks, but a small system will fill up so quickly.

I thought that too which I'll probably do. I do have it on a when statement for three minutes. If it's on longer it shuts the outlet off and has to be reset. I'm using an aqua lifter and it's slow! The when statement should be ok but will look at doing a second float. I have an additional port available or I can wire it in series.

Maybe take a look at the IceCap ATO and look how they designed it for two sensors. It may work for your setup as well.
