Here it is, the impossible!
Predator tanks and reef tanks are generally never combined.
It is strongly recommended that you take precautions when trying to do this.
I have a separate frag system that I can put any corals from this tank in...just in case of failure.

The Stocking List:
Shifs
1 Porcupine Puffer (3.5 inches) Named Mrs Puff.
1 Dwarf Fuzzy Lion (4.5 inches) Named Mufasa III (Mufasa I & II died during quarantine due to point of sale LFS)
1 Volitan Lion (8 inches) Name yet to be announced (will update when decided)
1 Very unlucky Yellow striped Chromis (1.5 inches) Named: Lunch Meat

Corals:
Brown Button Polyps
Red Trunk Polyps
Leather Tree (Green/orchid florescent color)
Purple, Orange, Red, And Yellow Zoanthid colonies
Metallic GSP
Regular Green GSP
Yellow Colony polyps

Clean up Crew
11 Turbo snails
6 Hermits
1 Black Serpent star

Tank Specs:
4xt5ho 54watt lighting with moonlights. Blue led accent lights on the left side and on the right are lights from a 10 gallon. the 50/50 petco bulbs(these come on before the t5s and turn off after them to make a sun rise type deal)

Powerheads are not in use...i have a 900gph retun pump with a MAGNUM 350 Carbon container stuck to the intake. The fish loooove the current. I will eventually get some super strong fans but for now its fine.
The tank is plumbed via overflow box into a 55gallon sump with an isolated DSB of 8 inches with the intention of growing mangroves for the heck of it. A fighting conch lives there and pops up once every 6 months a little larger lol.

I use a skimmer on weekends only at night. I have chaeto in the sump as well. it is lit via florescent reef light from a 20 gallon.

The return pump I am using is only 120 GPH. This is an experiment. Super Slow Sump allows detrital settling and gives the skimmer that much more time to clean the water. It also allows for delicate creatures to be fine. However you must manually shake and rotate the chaeto.

I have 100 and 35 pounds of very mature rock from the system I upgraded from.

I dont use reactors, UV, or any of the Fancy tech. I will do the LED systems that do lightning at one point. that would be killer!

Most of the tanks life is self sufficient with the exception of the Fish. I Eventually will do a Saltwater Mollie farm that is large enough for them to grow massively.
I culture My own Phyto and Brine Shrimp for the corals clams oysters and Bivalves, most of the tank is funded out of its coral production and I frag on a regular basis.

I also made a cooling fan out of a PC fan and a 12 volt adaptor. I cut a square out of a BLU ecig box and made the fan blow out of the box. it came with a convenient plastic piece that had a circle cut in it...this fit a tube I had perfectly.
IT basically looked like a little black box with a chimney. I smoke a cigarette and blew the smoke at it...it sucked it up and shot it out the fan perfectly. I stuck a dryer sheet in the box and tried it again, this time the smell was not that of a cigarette but the fresh rain smell that comes in a fresh load of laundry!!! essentially it is a Turbo Glad Air Freshener. Well the "chimney" fit perfectly in the back of the canopy. it sucks the heat out and does not put out that Fresh ocean smell that everyones girlfriend hates haha. (u could also use this next to a cat box or during a poker game when everyone is smoking all those gigantic cigars)

I feed all 4 fish krill or silversides with garlic xtreme daily and skip days randomly. Sometimes they go a week max and are fine.
