Hello everyone. This is my first ever build thread but not my first ever build. I currently have a 300 gallon 8ft tank fowlr and a 60 gallon mixed reef. The reason for purchasing the 150 is so i can consolidate everything into 1 tank instead of running 2 tanks shown in the pictures. New tank is ordered and should be here next week in the mean time I will be building the stand for the tank in next few days and i will upload pictures as i go. Wish me luck

Why not just turn that 300 into a reef? That 150 is gonna fill up fast specially with a couple big tangs

I would love to but that would require major modification to the structure of the home. Right now the 300 gallon sits in my garage it was suppose to go in my basement but we gave up after 1 try, just the tank alone weighs over 700 lbs and i did not want to risk it moving it down into my basement that was the main reason for buying this tank so i can easily move it down into my basement without having too much trouble.

Sounds like a good set up. I also am setting up a tank with the same dimensions. Although a 300 would be great, I think this size tank is definitely more manageable with cost and maintenance. Can't wait to see this come together!

Comming together nicely. Plumbing is done, lights are up and tank is cycling.

I’m fixing to pull trigger on sca 150. Debati on internal or external overflow

internal overflow.

I would say internal because it would be easier to redo the plumbing if ever needed ( keeping in mind at some point bulk heads will need to be replaced) unless u have room to work behind the tank then its nice to have some extra room inside the tank and i would do with external overflow.
