How well would the colors blend from blue to pro to Kessel? I know nothing about Kessels and little about the pros but I know the blues are quite blue. In short, I have no advice, just questions.

I really think you'd be happy with just the pros and kessils.

In my light trials in 2021 lol... the G5 XR30 blue and Kessil A500X didn't mix well but gave the tank the shimmer I like. The reefbrites just looked cheap in my opinion.

The Radion had static fuzz on sandbed and Windex color. Kessil looked natural, hence my choice to go all Kessils.

Now that the G6 came out, I love the new xr15 blue not Windex color anymore, but the blue sometimes to me can be too much.

Reason I want to mix them up to be able to balance blues to my liking. The Kessils will act like 10k metal halides and I will have the blues and pros work together to make exact color I'm looking for.

I'm thinking Kessils slowly ramp up in morning, radions come on at 11 and both go to full max from 12-2 then all wind down.

Radions will mix perfectly, there are some reefers that have blues and pros mixed and it looks great.

I will try mixing 10 xr15's with the 5 kessils see what it looks like.

My lighting trials were on a 40 gallon breeder and the lights are different in this 1000 gallon monster. I still have some more research to do lol.

Considering you need an adapter/plug for each light, I might be inclined to go with 10x Radion XR30 G6 Pros instead of the 10x mix of Radion XR15 G6 Blue/Pros (just to reduce your plug count from 20 to 10). Or if you definitely want to mix Blues and Pros, I'd go with 6x XR30 G6 Blues and 4x XR30 G6 Pros.

XR30 Pro ..... Kessil A500x ..... XR30 Pro

XR30 Pro ..... Kessil A500x ..... XR30 Pro

XR30 Pro ..... Kessil A500x ..... XR30 Pro

XR30 Pro ..... Kessil A500x ..... XR30 Pro

XR30 Pro ..... Kessil A500x ..... XR30 Pro

I think you might be happier with the spread from an XR30 vs. a pair of XR15s.

Would something like This work for power supply consolidation? There are inverters too but I'm not sure if they would be big enough. The radions pull 105 watts at max.

You'd get more spread from 15 because you can separate 15s further from eachother

That I don't know. I know the Radion power bricks are essentially large heat sinks and do get fairly warm to the touch.

With the G6s you already have more than enough spread (if we were talking G5s I'd be more inclined to lean towards individual XR15s).

I’ve seen on YouTube rt66 coral wholesale operation use only 3 xr 30’s over 8+ foot coral vats growing corals just fine.

I think 5 g6 on each side will be plenty, plus I have the 5 A500X’s

I also have 2 4ft reef brites xho’s two 400 watt metal halides and a 36” aquatic hybrid t5 module I can add on down the line if I ever needed more juice lol.

Now the question is will there be any benefit to
Mix blues and pros?
Well, the Kessil A500X is a Tuna Blue - so the G6 Blue might be a nice to accompany it. On the other hand, the color spectrum on the Pro is more universal.

I run the G5 Blues on my Red Sea and really like the spectrum.

It's not as blue as people think. You can make the spectrum yellow on the kessils

I'm not to sure if they would, not too much of a concern because I have a ton of real estate in that canopy to place the power cords and heat sinks.

G6's are amazing and I agree plenty of spread. I wonder if i could get away with just 5 xr15's on each side? They are squares and should cover 24"x24"

@blaxsun I'm hoping the water volume will mix all of them together

@VanDalsenReef I ran kessils very close to 10-13k kelvin it would look like 10k midday and I loved it.
They do get toasty. Might need a heat sink for them too.
hopefully with all the lights, and tons of equipment I wont need a heater lol.

On another reef topic, I’ve been soo busy lately I forgot to mention my Aqua Ultraviolet 240 watt Ozone/Uv was delivered mid last month.

Trending every box for this reef tank is the same size… huge!
