I have the pipes ready for the return line I was gonna run on each side to the other side of tank but. I just dry fitted it and it doesn’t look pleasing at all, actually kinda takes away the ocean reef feel.

Now I’m ready to scrap that idea.

Looks like 1 1/2 inch pvc pipe and a 90 elblow on the end on each corner, eventually it will be encrusted with coraline and stuff.

I think Im used to seeing it super clean and not having anything on that end.

I’m prolly going to end up getting an additional 2 power heads. Will have corals that like stronger flow closer to the power heads and lower flow corals on the end.

Inside the tank I take it? I gotta figure that out down the road on my peninsula all my flow is on one end and drilling for a closed loop is outta the question.. I’ll come up with something even if I have to run the pipes in the canopy and drop them into the tank.. hate to have more mp40’s over there and wires..

That’s what I was going to do, but I don’t like look.

Maybe with black pipe coming down into tank with black 1-1/2 45 degree elbow and a vca rfg glued on fitting?

Maybe buy two more jebao wave makers for a total of 8. These things move massive water and make lots of waves. I have them set on all diff modes, creates crazy currents and has blown sand out from other end of tank. So maybe I dont need anything at all.

I’ll keep the pipes, and add it to my reef junk Im collecting.

Can the water line be adjusted higher so that it’s not visible?
Yes, but with my pumps set on wave and random flow the waves come up glass braces and splash. So right now I have it on lowest possible level.

My old 300 gallon tank the teeth of overflow after time encrusted with algae and coraline and overflow pipes were fully encrusted with all sorts of stuff. This lead to water level rising in display tank. No matter how much I cleaned and scrapped stuff off it still struggled to keep the display level low.

So hopefully if this starts to happen again I will be at a water level that can still handle my waves in tank and I won’t worry about it like I did on my 300.

This is why I went with the option of a coast to coast internal overflow.

here are some pics of water level issues I was having.

Amazing build. I love the openness of everything. Good luck, following along.
Thanks it’s been a journey, I’m happy it’s finally all coming together.

I can’t wait till the system is dialed in and on auto pilot. So I can watch corals grow! plenty of open space for huge colonies to grow out.

Right now I’m working on connecting display and sump then I will be able to fire up the skimmer and uv system. I’m hoping that the UV unit warms up the water enough so that the heaters don’t come on often. It would be very interesting to see how much the UV unit will affect my water temp.

It’s an eyesore, maybe in future if I have flow issues, at least the plumbing supports are mounted.

Of course it wouldn’t be in that location it would be in the corner, but I don’t like it.

Presto! 2 years later lol I’ve been dreading plumbing and drilling this tank for a long time.

I hope this plumbing doesn’t leak, if it does I will be first to have All in one 1000 gallon aquarium hahahahahaha.
