Skimmer started making cappuccino like foam in two hours out of the box, and the Deltec 750i has a feature that it automatically shuts its self off during a skimmer run or blow up. I have had my share of skimmers overflowing.

Maybe I missed something but what is this to be used on? I had two, 1” Mazzei venturis driven by two monster Gorman Rupp separate pumps on my final iteration of a 7’ x 6” skimmer I built back in 1995.

Thats a 1-1/2” venturi manifold I made for my 240 watt aqua ultraviolet ozone/uv unit. I used this manifold to be able to adjust how much ozone is going into my system.

Having issue with one of my lyre tails looks like bacterial infection on her top fin. I was reading not much out there that treats it. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Here are some Easter weekend reef pics

The first picture Reminds me of the Matrix

This thing is a beast, wow!!!

ozone lines are tied off until I get a check valve (ordered wrong size) for the Venturi barb to connect all six barbs coming from uv tubes.

Ok first take on ozone/uv unit it is very powerful, overkill for my small reef tank. This thing is awesome, it’s like having a V12 in performance and output. I think this unit could handle a 5000 gallon reef tank with no issues. Good news when I upgrade lol hahahaha.

With ozone lines plugged into system it cleared my water in about 1 hr time. Definitely no need for separate ozone generator.

In that hour run time there was a strong ozone smell that the unit emits. I checked for leaks in airline tubing and everything seemed to be leak free everything zipped tied, no issues there.

I have an ozone detector and it did read ozone in air but nothing serious, still in the green.

I personally don’t mind the smell but it is noticeable. With door closed to fish room in running it for an hour or two is still manageable.

This is my only issue with ozone on the smell and worry if harmful to humans, fish, and feline friends even at low amounts.

I’m thinking running the ozone unit for 1 hr couple times a week or something like that and

uv run at night. Does anyone have a set schedule they run ozone? I’d like to get some ideas. Also the uv bulbs last 14 months, I wonder if my bulbs will last twice that amount of time, because the unit won’t be used often.

I love this unit and it has made water glass like in clarity and now no smell of reef tank(very cool). I just have questions on run times for both uv and ozone.

I also made a diy air dryer it’s pretty cool. I spent 60 on the two filters and 38 on the two bottles of desiccant beads and 16 for two male hose barb adapters. Very easy diy build, hopefully it last a long time before I have to recharge my beads. I’m thinking it will last a while depending on my ozone schedule.

cant give much help on the uv/ozone but would love to see pic of the crystal clear water. The one pic before was pretty cloudy so it would cool to see a before/after.

One hour of ozone use yesterday and overnight uv. One day only! Wow love it! It’s crystal clear the second pic you can see 10ft across other end of tank clearly.

Lights are 5 Kessil A500X’s and 4 led 48” led bars 410-480nm. Kessil 500’s are an amazing light turn up red and fish colors pop. The kessils are at 53% color 50% power reef bars at 100%.

I need a better camera my iPhone isn’t cutting it anymore or I get a tripod and filters for iPhone

Been running uv/oz together for over 4 hours and sensor for ozone hasn’t gone up or down. Smell has gone down significantly very manageable and not bothersome. This unit is working flawlessly very happy indeed with aqua ultraviolet’s 240 watt unit.

Uv And ozone did some work on that water for sure.

how are you entering the tank from the fish room?
My orp is now reading 218 it has gone up from
last night.

Access door behind aquarium, most everything is in middle and easy to access for aqua scape.
Even with colonies grown out I will still have plenty of space to work around them. It’s a really large tank. Pictures don’t grasp how big it really is, I love the size.
I thought I would have to get in there and scrub rocks once and while through the ugly phase but this clean up crew is amazing.

9 urchins, lawnmower blenny, 30 nassarius snails or so, two spot bristle tooth tang, a pair of convict tangs, and two diamond gobies are really putting in the work daily to keep the tank clean and under control. Now with uv/ozone unit plugged in its looking even better.

Toughest thing to date is my large urchin is wearing corals for hats hahahahah.

Wire management sucks that’s what I’m working on next.

We have water!!!!

Utility sink installed with RO/DI cold water line and drain ready. I’m loving it already.

FYI... I got the same sink a few months ago for my fish room. The faucet already leaks and the sink is already rusting.

I opted for this over the big plastic ones because it looked nicer. Should have gotten the large plastic one.

Yeah I figured it was gonna rust pretty fast for me too, hopefully mines doesn’t start leaking sorry to hear you’re having issues with it. I’m happy with it.

Plus side for me is that it’s big enough to put the massive skimmer head inside and spray it down easily and has a small enough footprint to fit in fishroom ( this is small closet ) 5x6. I got it mainly for height to clear my plumbing (20” high) from display to sump. All my drain lines and returns go under that sink. I blew the doors off too because I don’t need them I might add them back on maybe not.

I have really low water pressure in the home. The builder told me while the home was being built that the water pressure was very low for eco friendly reasons. I doubt I will ever have a leaks in any faucet in the house. To give you an idea I have 20psi full blast reading on my rodi unit that’s how low my pressure is in this house with booster it barely pushes 40 lol smh.

My fishroom isn’t pretty but it’s functional hahahah. I wish I had more space, I literally am cramming all my equipment in this room. It reminds me of a small apartment in New York lol. Hence reason I have a fire extinguisher in the fish room.

Heat has also been an issue, the room with door closed is 77 and the inside of canopy is 81 with humidity at 60% for canopy and 45-50% for fishroom. Benefit to this is my heaters rarely come on. My water is around 78 degrees which is perfect. Last night I forgot to plug back in the heaters and the temp dropped to 77.6 not bad. In winter time I’m sure it would’ve dropped to 75 ish. The UV unit warms up tank nicely too I don’t think I’ve seen heater on much at all in last couple of days.

Pretty cool view. Is this view from your fish room?

I’m planning a similar size tank 96x60x28

I dont have much view from fish room as its a small opening.

Thats awesome, great dimensions. you will love it!

Yes, but with my pumps set on wave and random flow the waves come up glass braces and splash. So right now I have it on lowest possible level.

My old 300 gallon tank the teeth of overflow after time encrusted with algae and coraline and overflow pipes were fully encrusted with all sorts of stuff. This lead to water level rising in display tank. No matter how much I cleaned and scrapped stuff off it still struggled to keep the display level low.

So hopefully if this starts to happen again I will be at a water level that can still handle my waves in tank and I won’t worry about it like I did on my 300.

This is why I went with the option of a coast to coast internal overflow.

here are some pics of water level issues I was having.
