So I thought that I would set up a little invert only Pico Reef at home, thankfully this week the Rail Workers and Bus Drivers have been on Strike so I have been stuck at home, and we all know what boredom and a cupboard full of spares does right?

I intend to utilise as much of my spares as possible and anything that I am missing I would like to try and DIY myself rather than spend any additional money.

System Hardware Details
Tank: 2.5G Tank (L31.5cm x W13cm x H18.5cm) - cost me £12 in Pets at Home in 2019
Light: ASTA 20 Marine LED - purchased for £45 in 2019
Heat: 50W Submersible Adjustable with Digital display - cost £15.00
on Nicrew Digital Temperature Controller - cost £20.00 from a reptile store
Flow: 600LPH HOB Filter - cost £15.00 in 2019 BUT I will be purchasing a second for an idea for a refugium that I want to test.
Stand: Found for Free on Facebook.

Rock: 1KG seeded rock from Reefer Shutdown
Sand: 1KG Seeded sand from Reefer Shutdown

Will be adding a door/ display on the front of the cabinet and tidying away all those wires

Yeah its a form of a spill over from the Mantis Tank, I enjoyed the BTA's in the Fluval but they got out of hand and the tank really was for the mantis so it needs more rock and less anemones. I traded Mama Nem and her three well coloured clones to the LFS a while back for credit (female Dwarf Fuzzy lion - hopefully and a Bucket of Salt) but i didnt realise that I still have two very poorly coloured clones in the AIO section. So this tank is for them, colour them up and move on.

More or less the same story with my Mini Maxi Anemone but that's a colour it up and buy an Anemone Crab, maybe get another Mini Maxi down the line, who knows

i cant think

Hi fellow Brit. Cellar Marines, Spotted Porcelian Anemone Crab. Ohshimai I believe
Thanks!
Also I’d love to see a photo of the rock scape, I’d love some ideas as I now have a reason to redo my current one :)

That's pretty much the scraps that I had laying around in filtration in existing tanks as well as some sand and naturally forming frags.

Thr Crab has located one of the bleached BTAs that I rescued from my Evo AIO

This is a stunning tank and I can’t wait to see how it grows! Do you plan on any coral like SPS?

I dont really like SPS corals all that much, movement for me is more important then colour. Although I do have some nice pieces of dead coral that would really suit SPS growth.

All depends on how i feel this reef is going down the line i guess, I do have a soft spot for Species only tanks as well and have looked at some really nice Montipora only reefs. Would have to be after moving on the Anemones and letting the Crab pass first though
