Look on eBay, Craigslist, Facebook marketplace, offer up, etc. I got my HDs for $150 each with the mount and everything just a couple months ago. You can also use 1 HD and 1 normal one, I did that for a while
I’ll keep looking. I looked at the hydra 64 for fun.

The 165w mounted 12” above the tank only covers 24”x24” so it wouldn’t light a 20 gallon long right. Yes the 2 ai primes would be double my budget but from all the reviews I’ve seen I may just go over budget
I would actually hang it more like 18" above for better coverage and less disco. People light 36" 40 breeders with them, although I haven't.

Another option, if you want to go over budget, would be a pair of Noopsyche K7s. They are basically an AI Hydra 26 (2 of the old Primes).

Two Kessil Tuna Blue A80's with mounts would take you to about 300 total and wopuld give you some pretty choice but simple to use lighting. I ran two of them on a 20L SPS dominated tank and liked the results.

My 20 gallon long, check out my build thread for specifics. I’m using 2 AI Primes ($100 each) and that’s pretty much it. Water changes like once every 2-3 weeks, very low maintenance tank

I’m looking to setup a 20 gal long tank for coral and a couple of shrimp. My wife wants just a shrimp tank. Now my question is what types of coral would be good in a tank that size and what are some good lights that won’t break the bank roughly around $200?
Mars Aqua 300W I hung mine from the ceiling over my twenty gallon long

Edit: just caught up nvm lol

highly recommend viparspectra 300w,its big and overpowering, but its a great light capable of anything, you can also use it if you upgrade tank size later. i have it over my 40breeder and its perfect. breeder is 36in and light is 31.5in. you may need to have it hanging pretty high though because the power,or you can put a diffuser on your tank and also double as a lid.also maybe a tint film.ive had it for about 2 weeks and love it.also there was a $25. discount on amazon so $225 isnt that bad.
