It took me 3 years to build this tank. I bought a 200 gallon aquarium in 2017, but it sat in my garage for a year until I finally got some friends bring it in the house. It’s 3/4 inch thick glass, empty it’s nearly 380 lbs. I still didn’t set it up because we were considering moving. Finally we moved into our ‘forever’ home. Again it sat in my garage for a year. In June I reached to Bruce at Aquatic Services (Delaware) to help me set it up. By late November 2020, he finally helped set my aquarium up in my basement.

Bruce brought me water, sand and live rock to help me get it up by Christmas. Initially he dumped 200 lbs of rock in the tank forming my reef. However, my wife and I had been watching BRS (Bulk Reef Supply) video. My wife thought aquascaping was a better route.

Here is our first attempt, what do you think?

Looks good. I had a tank with the stacked rocks - it was good at providing shelter for fish but made coral placement harder especially as they grow. My new tank will have lots of arches - I like how you did yours. Just make sure there are places for fish to hide and sleep.

Your sand bed looks deep. Some say deeper sand beds create a longer term problem.
