Tank is doing good starting to level out and alk consumption is going up dinos are gone completely, now just a little red turf algae that came in on LR, its getting weaker but it will be some time for it to be gone.

Sent in icp today i haven't done a waterchange since last test. Overall everything looks good visually.
You seriously have such a clean aesthetic tank! I can see your flow is STRONG based on the surface agitation. Your acros look very happy!

I’m so glad the dino stage is finally done!

How do you treat red turf algae?

Thank you, it is pretty strong flow from the nero's in an alternating flow pattern during the day, sand wouldn't survive. The acros are a little brown right now from elevated phosphates, but the dinos this time were pretty strong, im not sure if it had anything to do with the new addition of live rock, but it reminds me to monitor nutrients better. (Red turf algae) idk i dont do anything but scrub it with a brush, chop it up and suck it out, eventually it will get tired of being messed with :)
I still got some birds nest for you, message me maybe we can set up shipping some time

That bird’s nest is GLOWING!

I literally can’t find any Bird’s Nest near me, and I really want that coral because it reminds me of the bird I used to have.

I do have a question for you regarding nutrients and Dinos.

So let’s say you battled dinos which were cured once you raised the nutrients. Once you beat them, how low can you have your nutrients without risking them coming back?

I don’t have dinos, but I know I introduced them with the first corals I added (from my QT) , so the goal of mine is to have the lowest nutrients possible (for coloration) but also have enough nutrients to prevent these dinos/chrysophytes.

I’d love your input on this. :)

I follow brightwells recommendations and use neophos and neonitro of p04 at .02-.04ppm and n03 at 3-5ppm

That’s very similar to my goals as well. Phosphates at 0.02ppm-0.05ppm
Nitrates at 2-5ppm

Of course, the lower the range the better lol. I just say 0.05ppm as a buffer before I make any changes. Coloration>growth haha

Added 3 very small acro frags, first is a dragon slayer, a random pink fuzzy acro, and very small twig and berries .

Luckily it's crazy how both my tanks have almost identical parameters, I drop them in and they don't skip a beat :)

I need to get rid of these birds nest they were temporary and now time to go, I need the space . ;) if anyone wants them free pick-up and on plugs

Added reefbrites 24" xho 50/50 to the light array, I may change this out for the actinic blue , this has a bit of a pink effect in my tank with only the one on the back side, but I've been par mapping this tank and need additional light on the back row and I figured I'd give this a shot, I'd love to have a 6 lamp t5 and the ap9x in a floating hood, I'll see what happens in the future :)

I'm tossing up ideas of plumbing a second tank and new large sump in another adjacent room thru the wall, onto this system, im not sure, im just getting bored ;) and I really want a dedicated frag tank with colonies on tiles I can frag from, no fish maybe some but no rock just coral and fragracks. I've never plumbed two tanks together or had a dedicated frag tank so thats my short term dream for right now.

Its easier then you think to do. just make sure your sump is big enough to handle the extra water from turning pumps off. I'll be happy to look at anything you come up with and make suggestions.

I had a 20 long also before I upgraded to a reefer 350, can't speak enough on stability. If your going to dose do it carefully. Alk swings are deadly and alway keep a backup heater ready to roll.
IMG_2135.jpeg
Sweet tank it almost looks bigger than a 20long...

Yeah the 20long looks cool and it was supposed to be small, its in my front room, but as the journey went on I found my place in a slightly bigger tank.

This tank has been on a doser pump system since it was a 20long and has been rocking and rolling since its started, dosing soda ash 2 part balling method, and Reef Moonshiner's method for the past 2-3 weeks, allot of changes mostly everything has changed :) it's been awesome and a really fun project system.
This tank has two heaters with a hydros controller controlling a ranco with a back up 300w on a ranco controller also, same as my other tank wit a .3° difference throughout the day.

Thanks for checking it out!

i just got the ICP results in, looking good, boron is still high but coming down (from balling A and
K ) im dialing back off broad dosing trace elements and moving more towards the R.M method. Also manganese is low and will be increasing daily. everything looks good, still not yet elevated to R.M values

I've got big plans for this system . It's official I am going to plumb a second fiji cube 48 and large sump into the system, the tanks are going to be in my front room about 8' -10' apart, with the sump in the room behind the living room that currently houses my 120g system, and all my fish/coral related activities. I am still in the planning stages, I am working on supporting my subfloor first, I have some floor Jack's coming and some 4x4's to support under the area.

Pictures coming soon of some work starting.

Paletta pink tip: 9/12-10/2, I think colors are starting to push faster. Tank is doing good visually, I have a blue xho coming to replace the 50/50 lamp, but now I think It needs a different led bar, I just saw a video on the nikos led bars, anyway more updates soon I have the build in mind I'm looking at sumps, I think I'll make that purchase during cyber monday or the end of the year, so predicted project finish will be beginning half of next year. Even then I'll run it for a while b4 I connect the two.

Im looking at the bashsea ss48 sump, I already have the other 48g fiji ext set up and in place, first thing will be reinforcing the floor in my living room, the jacks are coming. I'll take some pictures under there. I have most of my floors supported, I need extra around the tanks, another reason for doing 2 tanks spread out rather than one large tank, I think this system will be around 140-150 total gallons. :)

Thank you, its not me, I just fiddle around. :)

I got rid of some birds nest in here now I have a little more room for the good stuff, the tank looks weird without them, im expecting to see an alk spike. I have some nice acros coming in next weekend from wwc, I might put them in this system.
