Well I might have made a mistake but time will tell, I saw a small flame angel and small green chromis i had to get them for this tank. i really hope the flame behaves himself, and I just hope the cromis survive, my guy at the lfs gave me a deal because I've been waiting for a flame, but that was before I was going to make this a reef tank, anyway ill feed him all the time and tell him to stay away from the corals......

Flame angels are what made me fall in love with this hobby, so there is a little nostalgia along with it.

Its a cool tank it scratches easy be careful, and the ap9x is not a good light for this tank.

Looks like you got a full house there, best time for an upgrade ;)

Yah, I’m pruning weekly right now in that tank.

I also love that idea of a cheap furniture stand for the electrical. Gonna have to steal that one

flame nipping at anything at all?

Steal away!(I'd love to see your version of the electrical cabinet for more ideas myself) I do it on all my tanks and it really helps, plus it keeps the temperature of the power bricks down, rather than piling them up compounding heat. And keeping you plugs away from water more cant hurt.

Flame is doing really good I dont think he's interested in corals which is cool, he has some really nice color and went strait to food and eats anything from frozen to flake. All p.e is still out and I just added a few more acros to the tank.

The tank is really starting to stabilize, but its eating n03/p04 as fast as my 120.

I have a bunch of frags I will be moving over to fill out the rock, in the next few months

Update, I think the cleaner shrimp might need to go, they climb all over my corals and upset them, I think they won't be here for long, and I dont think I will ever have a crab or shrimp of any kind in my systems ever again, that has coral at least.

Tank is doing good, it runs its self now, also running reef diapers 80% of the time and the occasional felt filter sock for fine polishing.

Looking good after a water change, upped feeding, nutrients just dissappear, got a few frags cooking in the 120g waiting to move over, still debating on getting rid of the shrimp......

Its not the shrimp messing with the acros (although they probably don't help!) Its definitely the flame angel, he actually picks on each one, sometimes he goes to one after another. He's probably nipping them all day when I'm not watching, anyway I'm going to let it be, they open at night and are partially open during the day lately. I want to say I think they will be fine, I've never had a flame with sps before but I think I feed him so much he's just nervous nipping waiting for food. It will be fine....

I've been trying to tighten up the temperature on this tank now with the hydros running the ranco heater controller, and I added the GHL 2x fan unit. I also added the 4th nero3 to the back wall.

I will be removing this now large green birds nest before it encrusts to the rock, and replacing it with a j.f bird's nest, it grows smaller and slower.

Also I will hopefully be going to the not so lfs next weekend, and getting some fish for this tank, I need some fish some how I'm down to the clown, one bangai, and the flame thrower.

Added 2 more pieces of live rock to kinda bridge the gap in the middle and make more room for corals, its hard to tell in pictures but there are several raceways and caves going on, the flame angel is in rock heaven, he loves utilizing the rocks, one of my favorite things about the angels. I'm getting extensions for the ap9x to bring out out from the wall farther, to be more centered. I will be bringing over some frags when they get bigger, I know the flame will bother them a little. And I have 4 cromis and a gamma left in qt if they make it they will be going in there to.
