WARNING LONG INTRO:
So I have had a green spotted puffer (his name is LilPoof) for the last few years. Hes a pretty cool pet fish and I haven't really been keeping his tanks in the best shape these past few years. When he was given to me he was already acclimated to to saltwater and was being housed in a 5gal with an aqueon HOB filter (he was a mean fishy and killed his tankmates). Ive slowly moved him up to a larger tank (currently hes in a 30 galon with a fluval canister filter) but I never took the time to reaseach proper lighting and filtration and always wondered why my tank was overrun with algae...well the last 3 months I've gotten really into the hobby and think ive done all my homework. I set this all up in the hopes of housing him in a proper marine setup but im kindof 50/50 as to where i want to go with this build now...I was given a 60gal tank from a friend and i think with a little work it would be a better suited home for my puffer. MTS is hitting me hard lol

Anyways i will stop rambling and get into the build. Maybe some of you can help give me some advice on where to go with this setup. Its a 25gal cube with an Eshopps Medium cube sump underneath.

TLDR: PUFFER NEEDED NEW HOME THIS MAY BE IT OR POSSIBLY A NANO REEF...PERSUADE ME?

So the plumbing didnt really work how i wanted it to. I ended up just cutting out one side of that manifold and just closing it off. So i just have 1 drain and 1 return now.

That's pretty much what I'm thinking too. I've got the tank it just needs some work, but i can do everything! It will just take a month or so.

That's what makes the hobby more interesting for me. Making and doing as much as possible myself.
Maybe make a small predator tank with hawkish, smaller puffers etc :)
