I said at the beginning of this build I will have a bare bottom tank. But by the end of it you and @Sean Clark will leave me like:

I am going to add more sand to cover all the bare spots. I decided for myself that it would look better, but I will add the sand after we fix the tank styrofoam issue because I don’t want to add more weight in the case that I am expected to remove all the rocks/livestock temporarily. That’s worst case scenario though.

Having a tank full of corals/clams has always been a dream of mine. My goal is to accomplish this dream and nothing will stop me. :D
That sounds like a good plan. First, do what you like (and provides a healthy environment for the occupants), not what is trendy or others think looks best.
Second, I encourage considering taking down the tank to redo the Styrofoam if you will consider this route (obviously not very easy, but the best long-term solution, in my opinion). As such, don't add the sand until that issue is resolved, as you mentioned.
Third, keep that dream and keep pressing toward achieving it! Motivation is one of the most necessary things in accomplishing a goal.

Just came back from my 5 day trip.

As our deal, I added more sand.

My tank will always have some bare spots because the flow is extremely strong.

I deep cleaned the tank today. Changed filter socks and clean skimmer cup. Filled ATO. Scraped all the glass. Clean & bleached powerheads. Did a 30% water change.

Growing a lot of coralline algae! It’s on the rocks, powerheads, and overflow box. This was not there 5 days ago.

Anyone surprised my new tank isn’t going through the ugly stage?

Nice!!!! How are the chromis doing? I bet it felt good to come back after five days to major issues :smiling-face: Have you heard back from the tank people about the corner situation?

The 6 chromis are still alive. I think I’m in the clear with uronema and the bacteria infection.

Quarantining these chromis taught me so much. I’m excited to try another batch once these are done to see how much my success rate will improve.

Styrofoam aside, I want to lighten the mood.

I purchased 2 acan corals today. (Edit: for the QT tank.)

I fixed my powerheads so it won’t blow my sand around.

I played with my camera and took an amazing photo. :)

Just calibrated the PH probe using Randy’s method. This reading is highly accurate. Before I did used an already opened bottle of ph 10 &7 from an unreputable brand off Amazon.

Randy tested ph standards out noted which ones he recommended. I rinsed the probe in RO/DI before adding the probe to any of the standards to prevent cross contaminating and changing the ph.

I’m not dosing anything yet. Look how high it is!

Sorry, in a silly mood. I'll get serious (but don't call me Shirley!)

I think it's past my bedtime!
You’re good! Please don’t feel like I’m upset at you. I frequently use humor to lighten the mood, so I would never intentionally make somebody feel like they need to be serious.

OMG! Did you (seriously) not get the Airplane reference?
