Nothin' like a mid-life crisis to focus your addictions  but I think the results are o.k.

Thanks guys!

Absolutely, here's a low down taken from a defunct website I ran . . .

240 gallon GlassCages.com
300 gallon sump
180 gallon frag tank

main display lighting: 4 x 400 watt Radiums on PFO HQIs, 4 x 110 watt UVL Aquasun 10K VHOs, 4 x 30 watt ReefBrite Blue LED strips.

MTC HSA 1000 skimmer on Iwaki 100 RLT

Iwaki 100 RLT for circulation to frag and display

400 lbs LR total in display and sump. Sump LR gets rinsed and cleaned monthly.

MTC Pro Cal Calcium Reactor

Deltec Kalkwasser stirrer.

500 ml B-Ionic 2 part weekly.

100 ml Kent Tech-I iodine weekly.

No other additives.

Tunze 6200s on Tunze 7094 wavemaker set to alternate every 6 hours and set for 3 second pulses. Only one Tunze on at a time.

Tank turnover estimated twice per hour so main flow from Tunzes.

Lighting schedule:

Blue LEDs 6am to 10pm (16 hours)
VHOs 8am to 8pm (12 hours)
MH 9am to 7pm (10 hours)

That's the quick low down

Gorgeous tank. How long have you had some of those colonies? Most of them are pretty large, which is what I'm going for. :)

Thanks!

Some of the colonies are quite old and came from a previous tank. For example the Oregon Tortuosa, which is the big blue colony on the left, I've had for over 5 years and started as a half inch frag, but I would contrast that with the purple tree shaped coral on the bottom left which I got as a brown frag two years ago and which I trim back on an almost daily basis. The majority of the colonies are around the 2 year old mark on average, and the variation in growth is almost unbelievable as some barely grow and others are virtual weeds, oddly enough or perhaps not so oddly, the corals that are the "hottest" are the slowest of growers.

No . . . no dosing. Big believer in the Berlin Method. In fact I'm starting to think that my 400 lbs of LR are the real secret here given the most recent research showing how little skimmers actually do to clean the water.
