I suppose it was an orange setosa colony and spongodes monti colony that were on the same rock structure. Both became HUGE and beautiful.

I'm not a goal oriented person so I didn't achieve any goals but I also didn't fall short of any

DAILY QUESTION: Have you ever experienced issues with algae growth due to lighting, and how did you solve them?

I had a huge algae outbreak in 2024, not due to lighting, but as a result of a phosphate and toxin issue. Extra water changes, various phosphate removers, and physical removal of algae definitely helped bring matters under control.

When I had algae growth all over the rocks and sands, I turned down the lighting intensity and only left the blue lights on. This helped with the algae growth.

If I had to choose one, my top priority would have to be coral growth.

My top reefing solution for the new year is to start adding more corals and grow them successfully.

One new coral I will like to add is a Scolymia.

Trying to avoid a tank that is overly dominated by blue.
